The harm of fungal gynecological inflammation

The harm of fungal gynecological inflammation

Today I would like to share with female friends some knowledge about "fungal gynecological inflammation". The name of this disease may be unfamiliar, but I believe everyone is familiar with its other name, Candidal vaginitis. It is an inflammation of the vagina or vulva caused by this bacteria. If it is not treated in time, it can easily cause many harms, such as infertility, fetal development problems and other complications. Let me explain it to you below.

Fungal gynecological inflammation is a type of inflammation caused by yeast-like fungi. It is a common type of gynecological inflammation, also known as candidiasis, candidal vaginitis, or vulvovaginal candidiasis (VVC). It is an inflammatory disease of the vagina and vulva caused by Candida albicans in the vagina. This pathogen is highly contagious and has the ability to adapt to the environment.

1. Cause infertility

After suffering from candidal vaginitis, the acidity and alkalinity of the vagina change, and inflammatory cells will phagocytose sperm, causing sperm motility to be inhibited and weakened. Candida albicans has the effect of agglutinating sperm, and the pain during sexual intercourse and decreased libido during inflammation can affect pregnancy. However, the infertility caused by this inflammation is temporary. After recovery, the condition will quickly return to normal and pregnancy will still be possible.

2. Affect fetal development

After a pregnant woman becomes ill, in a very small number of cases the Candida albicans in the vagina can ascend through the cervix, penetrate the fetal membrane and infect the fetus, causing premature birth. In addition, when the fetus is delivered vaginally by the mother, it may also be infected with Candida albicans, which often causes oral candidiasis. For example, thrush, as it is commonly known, is caused by oral Candida albicans infection. Some infants may also develop perianal candidal dermatitis. Therefore, in order to avoid infecting the fetus, pregnant women with candidal vaginitis should actively seek treatment.

3. Cause other diseases

If candidal vaginitis is not treated for a long time, it can easily cause ascending inflammation, leading to cervicitis and cervical erosion. If the pathogen enters the uterine cavity, it can cause fallopian tube and ovarian inflammation, pelvic inflammatory disease, etc., and ultimately affect pregnancy.

Above we have recognized the dangers of fungal gynecological inflammation. Not only that, it also affects the quality of life. Since this inflammation is contagious, it is not suitable for sexual life to avoid cross infection. Therefore, once diagnosed, it must be properly treated. Personal items in life must be kept clean and hygienic, and towels and washbasins must be used exclusively.
