Why is there white discharge from a woman's urethra?

Many women will find white discharge from their urethra, which is always very troubling. However, because it is a relatively private matter, they are always embarrassed to ask other people. But ignoring it is not a solution either. Let's take a look at what causes white discharge from a woman's urethra.

If a large amount of white secretions flow out of the urethra, accompanied by obvious symptoms such as urgency, frequency and pain in urination, and a history of unclean sexual intercourse, it is most likely that you have gonococcal urethritis; if the secretions are less but there is obvious urinary tract irritation and a history of unclean sexual intercourse, you may have non-gonococcal urethritis. Both of these conditions are sexually transmitted diseases and should be treated early and with proper treatment. Otherwise, there is a possibility of developing chronic prostatitis.

1. Prostatitis

Due to congestion, swelling and increased secretion of the prostate, male patients frequently experience a small amount of white liquid flowing out of the urethra when they wake up in the morning, at the end of urination or when defecating. This is called prostatic discharge, also known as white drip. Before and after defecation, a small amount of sticky milky white secretion flows out of the urethra, most of which is prostatic fluid, which may also be mixed with a small amount of secretion from the bulbourethral glands. This is because the prostate and bulbourethral glands are located at the bottom of the pelvis, and the muscles involved in defecation will compress these two glands when they contract, thereby expelling a small amount of secretion.

2. Urethritis: White transparent liquid flows out of the urethra, and there are symptoms such as urgency, frequency and pain in urination. If the secretion is less but there is obvious urinary tract irritation and a history of unclean sexual intercourse, you may have non-gonococcal urethritis. However, unlike the urethral dripping caused by prostatitis, the secretions of non-gonococcal and gonorrheal diseases are thin, clear and watery mucous or light yellow mucopurulent.

From the above introduction, we can know that if white secretions appear in the female urethra, it is not a serious problem, but it does need our attention, and we also need to maintain hygiene at ordinary times.
