What are the best treatments for cervical polyps?

I believe everyone knows the harm of cervical polyps. For patients, what they are most concerned about is the treatment method of cervical polyps. What are the best treatments for cervical polyps?

Cervical polyp examination item 1: Cervical biopsy

For patients with more severe symptoms, a cervical biopsy can be performed to confirm the diagnosis. The pathological diagnostic criteria for malignant transformation of polyps are:

1. Malignant transformation is limited to the polyp.

2. There is no cancerous change in the endometrium surrounding the polyp.

3. Be sure to see the entire shape of the polyp.

Cervical polyp examination item 2: microscopic examination

Endometrial polyps are composed of the endometrium, covered with a layer of cuboidal epithelium or low columnar epithelium. The middle part of the polyp forms a fibrous longitudinal axis, which contains blood vessels.

Because of the narrow pedicle and reduced blood supply, polyps are very prone to degeneration. It is very easy for blood vessels in polyps to form thrombosis, and they turn dark purple due to blood stasis. Necrosis often begins at the top, and they may eventually rot and fall off.

Cervical polyp examination item three: gynecological examination

In acute inflammation, the cervix may become congested and edematous, or eroded, with purulent secretions discharged from the cervical canal. There may be pain when touching the cervix. Chronic cervicitis may show varying degrees of erosion, hypertrophy, polyps, glandular cysts, and ectropion of the cervix, or purulent secretions at the cervical opening and a hard cervix upon palpation. If there is cervical erosion or polyps, there will be contact bleeding.

The best treatment for cervical polyps:

1. Physical therapy, laser therapy: One principle of laser therapy is to use the photothermal reaction produced by the tissue absorbing high-energy laser to cause the local temperature to suddenly rise to hundreds of degrees or higher within a few seconds, causing coagulative necrosis of the tissue, and even carbonization or vaporization. At the same time, due to the rapid heat, the tissue suddenly loses water dramatically, and after gathering, it can be used to cut or burn the diseased tissue.

2. Surgical removal: Surgical removal is convenient and effective quickly, but in the process of treating cervical polyps, it is generally only used to control the progression of the disease.

How long should I rest after cervical polyp surgery?

If a woman suffers from mild cervical polyps, the rest time she needs will be relatively shorter. However, women should be reminded that they are usually prohibited from having sex within one month after the operation to prevent infection. Generally, three days of rest will be enough. Do not take a bath or have sexual intercourse within half a month. After treatment, the main treatment is vaginal medication. There are no other requirements. Weight bearing is not recommended for women nowadays. You can choose shower instead of bathing in a tub.

Warm reminder: Although the harm of cervical polyps is relatively small compared with other cervicitis, every lesion in the body cannot be ignored, so patients with cervical polyps need to receive timely treatment.
