What is endocrine disorder infertility

The phenomenon of infertility is now very common, especially many women have such symptoms. There are many reasons that can cause infertility, so do you know about endocrine infertility, which is the phenomenon of infertility caused by endocrine disorders. The phenomenon of endocrine disorders in women is very common nowadays. The harm of endocrine disorders is very great, which can cause infertility. Let's take a look at it.

Definition Overview

Endocrine is the regulator of human physiological functions, and it exerts its effects in the human body by secreting hormones. For example, when bacteria enter the human body, thymosin secretion will automatically increase to fight the bacteria; during women's menstrual period, progesterone will also increase, while estrogen will decrease accordingly.

If, due to certain causes, the endocrine glands secrete too much or too little hormone, the metabolic function will be disrupted, which will cause endocrine disorders and lead to endocrine diseases, including female infertility.

Common manifestations

Luteal insufficiency is the most common manifestation of endocrine infertility. Female luteal insufficiency has many harmful effects on the body.

The main manifestations of luteal insufficiency are shortened menstrual cycles but normal menstrual periods, normal or slightly heavier menstrual flow, and a history of spontaneous abortion. Auxiliary examinations are often required to confirm the diagnosis. In fact, about 35% to 40% of recurrent miscarriages are caused by luteal insufficiency.

In a normal pregnancy, the egg begins to implant in the endometrium 5 to 7 days after fertilization, and the trophoblast cells begin to secrete human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG). HCG stimulates the corpus luteum of the ovary to continue to develop and grow into the corpus luteum of pregnancy, which causes the continuous production of progesterone. When the corpus luteum function declines from the 6th week of pregnancy, the placental trophoblast begins to synthesize progesterone. Therefore, miscarriage is most likely to occur during 6 to 7 weeks of pregnancy.

For example, luteal insufficiency includes shortened corpus luteum life and low corpus luteum secretory function, resulting in insufficient progesterone secretion, poor endometrial secretory response, or poor decidual response after early pregnancy, which makes it difficult for the fertilized egg to implant or affects the development of the fertilized egg after implantation, leading to miscarriage.

Luteal insufficiency has a great impact on women's physiology. Women who experience symptoms of luteal insufficiency need to go to the hospital for treatment in time.

Causes

1. Ovulation disorders: Ovulation disorders caused by various endocrine dysfunctions can directly cause infertility.

2. Congenital abnormalities of sexual differentiation: mainly include diseases such as androgen excess, androgen deficiency, androgen dysfunction, etc.

3. Amenorrhea caused by endocrine factors: Amenorrhea is an extreme form of infrequent menstruation. It can be divided into primary amenorrhea and secondary amenorrhea. Primary amenorrhea refers to the absence of menstruation in women after the age of 18; secondary amenorrhea refers to the cessation of menstruation for more than 3 months due to some reason after women once had regular menstruation.

4. Polycystic ovary syndrome: Menstrual disorders, amenorrhea, anovulation, hirsutism, obesity, infertility, and bilateral ovarian enlargement with polycystic changes.

5. Hirsutism and virilization: Hirsutism refers to the excessive growth, coarsening and darkening of hair in women compared with other women of the same ethnic group and age, or compared with themselves before the disease.
