Cervical hypertrophy is a type of chronic cervicitis. Inflammatory changes caused by pathogens infecting the cervical mucosa. The pathogens that cause cervical hypertrophy include mycoplasma, chlamydia, bacteria, and viruses. It is recommended that you go to the hospital's gynecology department to have a cervical secretion examination and receive symptomatic treatment based on the examination results. If necessary, a cervical TCT examination can be performed to rule out early cervical cancer. Simple cervical hypertrophy will not affect pregnancy, but severe cervicitis can cause endometritis, salpingo-oophoritis, fallopian tube adhesions and blockage, leading to infertility.

Treatment for cervical hypertrophy: Physical therapy is suitable for moderate and severe erosion. It is currently the method with the best efficacy and the shortest treatment course, and it can usually be cured in one time.

a. Electric ironing: Use the electric iron head to contact the eroded surface to coagulate the tissue and form a scab. The scab begins to fall off after about two weeks, and it usually takes 6 to 8 weeks for the wound to heal. The operation should be performed 3 to 5 days after the end of menstruation. Do not use if you have adnexitis. After treatment, leucorrhea may temporarily increase or cause bleeding. If there is a lot of bleeding, use sterile gauze to apply pressure to stop the bleeding and remove it after 24 hours. The disadvantage is that scar contraction may sometimes lead to cervical stenosis.

b. Cryotherapy uses a liquid nitrogen rapid cooling device. Place the probe on the eroded surface for 1 to 3 minutes, remove it after natural rewarming, and cause the diseased tissue to freeze and necrotize. A lot of watery discharge may occur 2 to 3 weeks after treatment. The advantage is that bleeding and cervical stenosis occur less frequently.

c. Laser treatment: Laser carbonizes and forms scabs on the eroded tissue, and the healing process is the same as the previous two treatment methods. After physical therapy, a large amount of yellow watery leucorrhea will usually flow out of the vagina for varying lengths of time. The vulva should be kept clean. It usually takes 6 to 8 weeks to heal. Before the wound is completely healed, bathing, sexual intercourse and vaginal douching should be avoided. After surgery, the patient can be checked once a week to observe the healing process. Note whether the cervix is ​​narrow and if so, gently dilate it with a probe.

Regarding the question of whether cervical hypertrophy needs treatment, I can now tell you clearly that cervical hypertrophy must be treated as early as possible, otherwise more lesions will occur, and it may develop into various terrible diseases such as uterine fibroids. Therefore, we must pay attention to these gynecological diseases, otherwise the consequences will be disastrous once they occur.
