What causes spontaneous abortion

For every woman, miscarriage is a very scary thing. If there is even the slightest problem with the baby in the belly, the expectant mother will be very worried, not to mention losing the baby. There are many reasons for spontaneous abortion. Some expectant mothers do not take it seriously at all and just do what they are supposed to do. Especially when doing heavy work, this can easily lead to miscarriage. Because of my own lack of attention, I ended up losing my child.

Spontaneous miscarriage is a very scary thing for women. If you don’t pay more attention to it in your daily life, the possibility of spontaneous miscarriage is still relatively high. Therefore, it is important for women to understand the causes of miscarriage.

1. Due to defects in the egg or sperm, or both, or in the early stages of pregnancy, the mother lacks important substances such as vitamins, folic acid, and hyaluronidase, which hinder the normal development of the fertilized egg and lead to miscarriage.

2. Chromosomal abnormalities: After chromosome research, the fetus of spontaneous abortion was found to have karyotype abnormalities, and also accompanied by structural abnormalities such as fetal or placental abnormalities.

3. Endocrine disorders: Excessive estrogen and insufficient progesterone are also causes of early miscarriage. In addition, lack of thyroid hormone, which hinders the oxidation process of cells, as well as hyperthyroidism and diabetes, can all lead to habitual miscarriage.

4. Mental factors: Tension, fear and mental stimulation can cause habitual abortion.

5. Prostaglandin factors: Some people have found that the amniotic fluid samples of cesarean section termination of pregnancy do not contain prostaglandin F2 or F2a; however, in the amniotic fluid samples of spontaneous abortion, the concentrations of these two prostaglandins are very high, and prostaglandin-like activity is also present in the peripheral venous blood of spontaneous abortion patients. This proves that the high frequency of uterine contractions during spontaneous abortion is caused by endogenous prostaglandins.

6. Abnormal placenta: Decidualitis can cause bleeding or hyperplasia of the basal decidua, dissolution of chorionic epithelial cells and decidual cells, and blockage of blood vessels in the villi, affecting the absorption and transportation of nutrients, causing the fertilized egg to separate from the attachment site, bleeding and miscarriage. Huge placental infarction can reduce placental function, affect fetal survival, and lead to miscarriage. Placenta previa and edema and degeneration of placental villi can also cause miscarriage.

7. Blood type incompatibility: Due to the production of antibodies in the mother's body caused by Rh factor or incompatible ABO blood type factors during previous pregnancy or blood transfusion, the antibodies enter the fetus through the placenta during this pregnancy, causing red blood cells to agglutinate and produce hemolysis, resulting in habitual abortion.

8. Villus interstitial collagen-like lesions: can cause the villus blood vessels to degenerate and cause habitual abortion.

9. Reproductive organ diseases: Uterine malformations, such as bicornuate uterus and uterine septum, are often the cause of miscarriage. Uterine fibroids, especially submucosal fibroids that develop into the uterine cavity or ovarian cysts that are incarcerated in the pelvic cavity, can affect fetal development and lead to miscarriage. Relaxation of the internal uterine os can easily lead to habitual miscarriage.

10. The mother suffers from systemic diseases: such as acute infectious diseases, chronic diseases (severe anemia, heart disease, heart failure, chronic nephritis, severe hypertension, etc.), vitamin deficiency (especially vitamin E deficiency), and chronic poisoning such as mercury, lead, and alcohol, which can all cause miscarriage.
