Acute cervicitis

Acute cervicitis

Cervicitis should be a very common disease among female friends. More and more women are suffering from this disease, especially those who have had abortions and women who have given birth. There is a great chance of suffering from cervicitis. This is because the cervix has been damaged. Cervicitis can be chronic or acute. Everyone should know more about acute cervicitis, as the general incidence rate is also high.

Nowadays, women are prone to various gynecological diseases, which has a lot to do with their daily living habits. Childbirth can also easily cause gynecological diseases. Cervicitis is very common, especially acute cervicitis. Everyone should understand some of its causes.

Acute cervicitis is less common than chronic cervicitis and often occurs in puerperal infection or infected abortion. Vaginal Trichomonas, fungal and gonorrhea infections are often accompanied by acute cervicitis. The most common cause of acute cervicitis is gonococci, a pathogen that affects the cervical mucosal glands and spreads along the mucosal surface, causing superficial infection. Other pathogens such as streptococci, staphylococci, enterococci, etc. can directly cause acute cervicitis or be secondary to endometrial infection. Unlike gonorrhea, streptococci and staphylococci invade deeper into the cervix. Streptococci invading the cervical lymphatic channels can cause pelvic cellulitis, which is more common in infected abortion or puerperal infection.

Causes

1. When gauze, cotton balls or other foreign objects are placed in the vagina for too long, it can easily induce infection and cause acute cervicitis.

2. Secondary infection of cervical laceration caused by delivery or miscarriage is a common cause of acute cervicitis; too frequent sexual intercourse can also increase the chance of cervical infection.

3. Acute trichomoniasis, candidal vaginitis or bacterial vaginitis in the vagina can also cause acute cervicitis at the same time; acute gonococcal cervicitis often occurs when there is gonococcal infection.

4. Using high-concentration acidic or alkaline solutions to flush the vagina, or inserting corrosive drugs into the vagina, can damage the vaginal and cervical tissues, and may cause cervicitis and vaginitis.

2 Clinical manifestations

Increased vaginal discharge is the most common and sometimes the only symptom of acute cervicitis, and is often purulent. Because cervicitis often coexists with urethritis, cystitis or acute vaginitis, acute endometritis, etc., other symptoms of cervicitis are often masked, such as varying degrees of pain in the lower abdomen, lumbosacral region, and bladder irritation symptoms. In acute gonococcal cervicitis, there may be varying degrees of fever and leukocytosis.

Infections caused by various pathogens may present with secretions of different characteristics, which can sometimes be identified by visual inspection. You can refer to the chapters on vulvar inflammation and vaginal inflammation for details, but for an accurate diagnosis it is still advisable to take a smear or culture of cervical secretions for targeted treatment. Acute cervicitis can be treated with some clinical professional gynecological drugs, such as Jiaoyan gel disinfectant, which has obvious effects in treating gynecological inflammation.

After the occurrence of acute cervicitis, there will be some abnormalities in the leucorrhea. If you find abnormal leucorrhea in normal times, you should be alert to some gynecological diseases. Many women do not pay attention to cervicitis and feel that having gynecological diseases will not have much impact on their health. If they do not seek treatment, it will result in some other complications and the body will be affected a lot.
