Anorectal diseases are at high risk! Please check this prevention guide

When friends get together, they will inevitably have a barbecue, spicy crayfish, hot pot, ice beer, etc. However, eating these irritating foods can easily cause constipation and aggravate anorectal diseases such as hemorrhoids. Don't underestimate anorectal diseases. If you don't seek medical treatment in time, small problems will become big troubles, seriously affecting the quality of life and daily work, and sometimes even causing serious consequences.

Three major anorectal diseases that are most common in autumn

1

hemorrhoid

Hemorrhoids are one of the most common anorectal diseases, and autumn is often the season when hemorrhoids are most common. Barbecue, spicy crayfish and other irritating foods and alcohol can stimulate the anus, causing blood vessels to become congested and dilated, leading to the onset of internal hemorrhoids or thrombosed external hemorrhoids.

In addition, accidentally eating spoiled food can easily cause acute gastroenteritis, leading to diarrhea and triggering hemorrhoids. Mild hemorrhoids can be treated by improving diet and lifestyle, but if hemorrhoids are severe and there are symptoms such as prolapse, edema, pain, blood in the stool, etc., you must seek medical attention in time.

2

Anal fistula

Anal fistula refers to a fistula formed in the perianal tissue gap, with the inner opening directly connected to the anal canal. Therefore, anal fistula is often characterized by perianal pus, bleeding, and fecal discharge, accompanied by a strong stench on the underwear, which seriously affects the patient's work and life. Anal fistula cannot heal on its own and must be treated as soon as possible, otherwise it will recur and form a complex anal fistula, which makes treatment difficult.

In fact, anal fistula is mostly caused by long-term untreated perianal abscess. Staying up late, fatigue, decreased resistance and unclean perianal area are the main causes of perianal abscess. In the early stage, perianal abscess is often manifested as small perianal lumps, commonly known as "boils". Once a small bulge is found around the anus, it needs to be treated as soon as possible, otherwise it is likely to turn into anal fistula.

3

Anal fissure

Anal fissures are common in women and children. Constipation is the main cause of anal fissures. Too thick and hard stools can cause the anal canal to split during defecation, thus forming anal fissures.

The main symptoms of anal fissure include pain, blood in the stool, and constipation. For patients with anal fissure, if they want to completely cure it, they must first solve the problem of constipation. Taking a sitz bath with clean water at about 41° can improve the local blood supply around the anal canal, keep the area around the anus clean, and promote the healing of anal fissures. At the same time, you can also use some hemorrhoid suppositories and hemorrhoid creams, which can improve pain symptoms and remove dead tissue and promote muscle regeneration.

How to prevent anorectal diseases

01

Maintaining perianal hygiene

Take a shower and change your underwear frequently. Try to choose breathable clothes and wear pure cotton breathable underwear. Keep your anus clean and dry after defecation.

02

Improve your eating habits

Drink more water, eat less spicy and irritating food, and eat more vegetables and fruits rich in dietary fiber.

Healthy eating

03

Develop good bowel habits

Do not take too long to defecate, do not squat for a long time or strain when defecating. It is recommended not to bring electronic devices such as mobile phones and tablets into the bathroom.

04

Work and rest routine

The weather is hot, and people like to be active at night, which causes them to fall asleep late and rest less. Unconsciously, their resistance decreases, making them more susceptible to diseases. You should ensure adequate sleep time at ordinary times, and take a proper nap at noon to make up for the lack of sleep.

05

Increase your exercise

Avoid long periods of sitting or standing. Get up and move around every once in a while to improve blood circulation around the anus. Do moderate physical exercise in the morning and evening, such as walking, swimming, and racket sports, to strengthen your physique and improve your immunity.
