Could these 6 “minor illnesses” turn into cancer if left unchecked?

If you have a minor injury or illness

You go to the hospital immediately for consultation

Or drag it down first

Some people think

Going to the hospital for treatment is expensive and troublesome

The human immune system is still very strong.

Maybe it will get better if you delay it.

Others think

Go to the hospital immediately if you feel unwell

Otherwise, a minor illness may turn into a major one.

Doctor Yuanyuan reminds

These 6 minor illnesses

If not treated promptly, it may develop into cancer

6 minor illnesses that may develop into cancer

Cancer does not develop all at once. Each type of cancer takes a different amount of time to develop, ranging from a few months to years or even decades. If these six minor illnesses are not treated in time, they may develop into cancer.

1. Chronic inflammation

In chronic inflammation, the damage and repair process of inflammation repeats over and over again. Repair and regeneration require cell proliferation, and cell proliferation is premised on cell division. The more cell divisions there are, the greater the chance of DNA replication errors, increasing the chance of cancer cells.

Mutated cancer cells will inhibit the immune clearance function. If tiny cancer cells accumulate and gather into clusters, they will form malignant tumors.

Chronic inflammation increases cancer risk

2. Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease

Studies have shown that people with chronic bronchitis have a higher incidence of lung cancer. Other diseases such as a history of tuberculosis and pneumonia are also associated with lung cancer.

3. Gastrointestinal polyps

About 15% to 40% of colon cancers originate from multiple colon polyps, and the precancerous course of the disease is about 5 to 20 years; adenomas can become cancerous, and the canceration rate of adenomas larger than 3 cm in diameter exceeds 40%.

4. Stones

Bile duct stones and gallbladder stones are one of the main risk factors for bile duct cancer and gallbladder cancer.

Bladder stones may increase your risk of bladder cancer.

5. Vitiligo

Leukoplakia or erythema of the oral mucosa is a risk factor for oral cancer.

Vulvar leukoplakia may be a risk factor for vulvar cancer.

6. Ulcerative lesions

Gastroduodenal ulcers may develop into gastric cancer.

If oral ulcers do not heal for a long time, you should be alert to oral cancer.

In fact, if ulcers in any part of the body do not heal for a long time, you should be vigilant.

How to prevent cancer?

In addition to timely treatment of the above diseases, you can also prevent cancer by doing the following.

1. Quit smoking and stay away from secondhand smoke/thirdhand smoke.

2. Don’t drink alcohol. If you must drink, drink as little as possible.

3. Control your weight and avoid being overweight or obese.

4. Keep exercising and avoid sitting for long periods of time.

5. Maintain a regular work and rest schedule, get enough sleep, and avoid staying up late. Combine work and rest to avoid overwork.

6. Eat a balanced and diversified diet with a reasonable combination. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables. Properly control the intake of red meat (pork, beef, mutton, etc.), avoid or eat as little processed meat as possible (sausage, ham, bacon, salted meat, cured meat, smoked meat, etc.), and try not to eat fried or grilled food. Avoid consuming expired, spoiled, or moldy food.

7. Good eating habits. Try to eat regularly, do not overeat, and do not replace water with beverages. Control salt intake and avoid high-salt diets. Avoid hot drinks and hot foods over 65°C. It is recommended to eat separately and not share bowls and chopsticks.

8. Develop the habit of regular bowel movements to avoid long-term constipation. Drink plenty of water and do not hold back urine.

9. Pay attention to sexual hygiene and avoid unsafe sex (multiple sexual partners, premarital or extramarital sex, etc.).

10. Workers in high-risk occupations should take good occupational protection measures to reduce or avoid exposure to occupational carcinogenic factors.

11. Avoid excessive exposure to sunlight and ultraviolet rays.

12. Actively prevent and treat infections caused by pathogens such as hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, human papillomavirus, Epstein-Barr virus, and Helicobacter pylori.

13. Maintain a good attitude, learn to reduce stress and relax, and avoid being in negative emotions and high mental pressure for a long time.

Start with the details, stick to it, and don't rely on luck
