Sincere advice: Walking more than 7,000 steps a day can significantly reduce mortality

As the saying goes, " Take a hundred steps after a meal and you will live to be ninety-nine ." I wonder if you have the habit of going out for a walk in the evening after a busy day. Don't underestimate this simple habit, its benefits to health are beyond your imagination.

In September 2021, a research team from the University of Massachusetts Amherst published a research result, saying that as long as we take more than 7,000 steps a day, we can reduce the risk of all-cause mortality .
This is not a casual conclusion. The research team tracked 2,100 middle-aged people for 14 years and found that compared with those who took less than 7,000 steps per day, those who took more than 7,000 steps per day had a significantly lower risk of all-cause mortality, with a reduction of 50 to 70 percent.

But the more you walk, the better it is not the case. After exceeding 7,000 steps, walking more will not further reduce the risk of death .

In fact, more than one study has come to this conclusion. In 2019, Harvard Medical School conducted a survey of elderly women. Researchers collected the daily steps of 17,000 American elderly women with an average age of 72. The results showed that when their daily steps were below 7,500, the more they walked, the lower their all-cause mortality rate. After more than 7,500 steps, this relationship disappeared.

This shows that as long as our daily steps exceed 7,000 steps, it is very good for the body. In fact, this is not difficult. As long as you walk more in your daily life or work, or take a walk after dinner, it is easy to achieve.
