Counterpoint: In Q3 2024, vivo ranked first in the Chinese mobile phone market with a market share of 19.2%, and Huawei rose to second place

According to recent news, Counterpoint released a smartphone data report for regional markets in Q3 2024.

Data shows that the global smartphone market grew 2% year-on-year in the quarter, with shipments reaching 307 million units.

Among them, Samsung continued to lead the market in terms of shipments, accounting for 19% of sales share, while Apple led in revenue and set its highest record for third-quarter shipments, revenue and average selling price.

Xiaomi ranked third, with revenue growth exceeding the growth rate of shipments, while OPPO ranked fourth and vivo had the fastest year-on-year growth among the top five mobile phone brand manufacturers.

In the third quarter, global smartphone market sales increased by 2% year-on-year, marking the first year-on-year growth in the third quarter since the third quarter of 2018.

Samsung and Apple's sales in the quarter were flat compared to last year, but thanks to the early release of iPhone 16, Apple became the top-selling brand in September.

Counterpoint mentioned that outside the top five, Motorola and Huawei led the market's growth, with sales increasing by nearly 30%, and Motorola and Google recording their highest quarterly sales ever.

It is reported that in the third quarter of 2024, China's smartphone sales will increase by 2.3% year-on-year, and is expected to achieve the first annual growth in five years.

vivo once again took the first place with a market share of 19.2%, followed by Huawei and Xiaomi, which occupied 16.4% and 15.6% of the market share respectively.
