TechInsights: Global smartphone shipments reached 307.7 million units in Q3 2024, up 3.8% year-on-year

According to the latest data from the analysis agency TechInsights, global smartphone shipments in the third quarter of 2024 increased by 3.8% year-on-year to 307.7 million units. The top five remained stable, namely Samsung, Apple, Xiaomi, OPPO, and vivo. It is worth noting that Lenovo-Motorola has the highest year-on-year growth rate of 26%, becoming the fastest among the top ten, and its global ranking has risen to seventh.

Lenovo-Motorola is seeing healthy growth in most parts of the world, and its acquisition of Japan's Fujitsu is starting to pay off.

TechInsights estimates that Lenovo-Motorola and Fujitsu (Arrows) brand smartphones shipped nearly 700,000 units in Japan, ranking among the top four in the Japanese market for the first time (after Apple, Google and Sharp).

In North America, Lenovo-Motorola maintained its third position, with its market share increasing to 12%, a record high in the third quarter.

In addition, Lenovo-Motorola's strong momentum in India continued this quarter, with shipments more than doubling.

As its brand influence continues to expand, Motorola has achieved its highest market share in a decade and achieved its highest quarterly sales ever.

In terms of market segments, according to IDC's global mobile phone data for the second quarter of 2024, Lenovo-Motorola ranked first in the global market share of vertical folding screen mobile phones with a market share of 30.8%.
