IDC: Apple's shipments in Q4 2023 will reach 80.5 million units, with a market share of 24.7%

According to IDC, the global smartphone shipments in the fourth quarter of 2023 were officially announced. The report shows that Apple's shipments in the fourth quarter of 2023 reached 80.5 million units, and its market share in the fourth quarter of 2024 was 24.7%, ranking first in the industry. Samsung's shipments in the fourth quarter of 2023 were 53 million units, with a market share of 16.3%, ranking second in the industry.

After Apple and Samsung, there are Xiaomi (40.7 million units), Transsion (28.2 million units), and vivo (24.1 million units), with market shares of 12.5%, 8.6%, and 7.4%, respectively.

IDC said that brands such as Transsion and Xiaomi will grow rapidly in the second half of 2023, mainly due to strong demand in emerging markets.

The biggest winner is obviously Apple. Apple is the only one among the top three mobile phone brands that has achieved positive growth every year, and it is also the first time that Apple has taken the number one position in the industry.

IDC also pointed out that competition in the smartphone market has further intensified. Huawei has bucked the trend and brands such as OnePlus and Honor are also continuing to make efforts in the mid-range and entry-level markets.
