One picture tells you the difference of Apple's smartphone strategy

Market research company IDC recently released a very interesting set of data, they divide the smartphone market share based on price. As shown in the figure, more than 80% of Apple devices are "high-end" devices, priced at more than $400, and the remaining less than 20% of devices are "mid-range devices". Apple currently has no low-end iPhone products.

Compared to Apple, Android and Windows Phone smartphones have adopted a completely different strategy. Most of their handsets - about 60% - are priced below $200. Android and Windows Phone have 20% of mid-range devices, and a small number of them are high-end devices, priced at more than $400.

Therefore, the high-end smartphone market can be said to be occupied by Apple, but as analysts pointed out before, 85% of the smartphone market is Android phones, which means that if a device is priced below $200, it is still relatively popular with consumers.
