VisionMobile: ARM, the king of Android processors

The PC processor market is very different from the mobile processor market. In the PC field, Intel is the king, but in the mobile processor field, Intel only has a small share.
Two silicon chip markets, two silicon champions

In the PC processor market, the core of competition lies in performance, such as the speed of the processor; while in the mobile device processor market, the key to competition lies in design flexibility, the ability to adjust the performance of the processor to different devices.
Let's first look at the design of a processor chip, which generally consists of three main stages:

In contrast, in the mobile phone market, ARM and other processor manufacturers only do logic design. The model is to sell patent property rights. Then the chips are manufactured by third parties. The leader in the production field is TSMC, and today 95% of mobile phones use ARM architecture processors.

As the mobile market becomes more and more important, Intel needs to adjust its strategy to enter this market, but it is not easy to break the past vertical integration.
