Elderly people need to pay attention to the following points when drinking mung bean soup

First, mung beans are cold in nature, so people with yang deficiency who have cold limbs and fear of cold, as well as the elderly with spleen and stomach deficiency who often suffer from cold stomach pain, diarrhea and loose stools should not eat too much.

Second, the elderly have many underlying diseases and often take multiple medications. They should avoid drinking mung bean soup within 1 hour before and after taking the medication to prevent reducing the efficacy of certain drugs.

Third, it is recommended to drink mung bean soup at room temperature, and avoid drinking iced mung bean soup after sweating, otherwise the elderly are prone to acute gastroenteritis.

Fourth, mung bean soup is suitable for drinking immediately after cooking. The antioxidant components in it will continue to decrease during storage. It is best to boil the mung bean soup that has been stored in the refrigerator for a short time before eating it again to prevent food poisoning.

Fifth, mung beans contain a lot of protein. For elderly patients with cirrhosis, renal insufficiency, and gout, drinking too much may cause the disease to worsen.

For the elderly, it is okay to eat mung bean soup in summer to prevent heatstroke, but you should choose a clay pot when cooking, avoid using an iron pot; try to boil it until it is soft, and you don’t need to peel it. Adding a small amount of coix seed, rock sugar, etc. can make the taste better. Finally, it should be noted that it should be consumed in moderation. It is recommended not to exceed 500ml per day, and try to drink it immediately after cooking.
