A 35-year-old young man suffers a cerebral infarction. What should he do in the future? How to prevent and treat it?

The day after the Chinese New Year, Huazi received a call from a friend, her cousin had a stroke. The friend said that her cousin was only 35 years old this year, and he had a stroke on New Year's Eve. She asked Huazi why he had a stroke at such a young age, and what he would do in the future?

Huazi asked her friend how her cousin was doing and whether he had thrombolysis in time. Her friend said that her cousin went to the hospital in time and the thrombolysis should have been done. He was fine now because her cousin even grabbed the New Year red envelopes in the family group. Huazi told her friend that the focus of future treatment would be to prevent the recurrence of cerebral infarction.

1. Cerebral infarction is not an "old age disease" Many people believe that cerebral infarction is a disease exclusive to the elderly, but in fact young people can also suffer from cerebral infarction. There are two main causes of cerebral infarction, one is atherosclerosis of the cerebral arteries, and the other is atrial fibrillation.

Nowadays, many young people have problems with obesity, staying up late, and lack of exercise, which cause abnormalities in blood pressure, blood lipids, and blood sugar, and then lead to atherosclerosis.

The main cause of atrial fibrillation is heart disease, such as congenital heart disease, rheumatic heart disease, hypertensive heart disease, etc. Heart disease is not age-specific, so young people may also experience atrial fibrillation.

2. Preventing recurrence is the focus of treatment. After a cerebral infarction occurs, it is necessary to re-open the blood vessels as soon as possible, and to rescue the dying brain cells and minimize the damage to the central nervous system. However, the "golden time" for thrombolysis cannot exceed 6 hours, and the shorter the time, the better. At this time, if the doctor recommends thrombolysis, the immediate family members must not hesitate, but sign as soon as possible and fully cooperate.

Drug treatment after cerebral infarction enters the stable period is mainly to prevent recurrence. Because the probability of recurrence of cerebral infarction is very high, and the recurrence is usually more serious. If sequelae appear after cerebral infarction, drugs have no therapeutic effect, and rehabilitation exercises should be carried out early and persisted for a long time to have hope of recovery.

3. Two medication regimens for preventing recurrence of cerebral infarction The medication regimens for preventing recurrence are different for different causes of cerebral infarction. If you have atherosclerosis, you need to take medication to control your blood pressure, blood lipids and blood sugar, and use statins to control the level of low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) to below 1.8mmol/L. At the same time, use antiplatelet drugs represented by aspirin to prevent thrombosis.

If it is due to atrial fibrillation, the heart disease needs to be treated and antiarrhythmic drugs are used for cardioversion. At the same time, anticoagulant drugs such as warfarin are used to inhibit thrombosis.

It should be noted that antiplatelet drugs are different from anticoagulant drugs and the two cannot replace each other.

4. What to do if sequelae occur? Cerebral infarction is a very serious disease that causes brain nerve cells to die due to lack of oxygen. Once nerve cells die, they cannot regenerate. Most patients with cerebral infarction will have sequelae of varying severity. However, through rehabilitation training, other healthy brain nerve cells can compensate and gradually restore their functions.

The length of time it takes to recover varies depending on individual constitution, age, and severity of the disease. Generally speaking, the "golden recovery period" is within one year after a stroke, and the earlier you start rehabilitation training, the better the effect. Rehabilitation training will also be effective if it is carried out more than one year later, but the recovery speed will be slower.

Some patients with more severe symptoms may need longer exercise to achieve results. This is a difficult time, and only by persisting and not giving up can you rebuild your life.

In summary, cerebral infarction is a very serious disease, and it tends to progress to a younger age, so young people also need to pay attention to prevention. For people who have already had cerebral infarction, preventing recurrence is the focus of treatment. Different medication plans are used according to different causes of the disease. The drugs must be used under the guidance of a doctor. If you have any questions about the use of the drugs, please consult a doctor and a pharmacist.
