Huazi's friends were discussing a question: Do those who died suddenly of myocardial infarction feel pain at the last moment of their lives? Huazi said that people who have not experienced myocardial infarction will never know what it feels like. However, since it is called "sudden death", compared with other long-term diseases, the pain caused by myocardial infarction lasts for a very short time. If the disease progresses very quickly, the person may lose consciousness before he or she feels the pain. 1. Only those who have suffered from myocardial infarction know that myocardial infarction is a very serious disease. It refers to the blockage of the coronary arteries that supply blood to the heart, and the symptoms of ischemia and hypoxia in the heart. If the main blood vessels are blocked and the ischemia is severe, the heart will "strike" and no longer supply blood to the whole body. The brain loses blood supply and the person will lose consciousness after a few tens of seconds. In this case, it may not be time to feel the pain. The grandmother of one of Huazi's students passed away a while ago. She said that her grandmother had coronary heart disease and had two stents. She was playing mahjong with others the day before she died. She went to bed after dinner with her family at night. The next morning, her family found that she had passed away in her sleep, and her expression was very peaceful, without any pain. Many older people would call this way of death "the blessing from the previous life." However, some patients with myocardial infarction have symptoms a few days before the onset of the disease, and they will feel particularly tired and uncomfortable in the chest area. When the disease occurs, they will experience severe squeezing chest pain, sweating, nausea, vomiting, and a serious sense of impending death. Many patients who suffered myocardial infarction and were later rescued still have lingering fears about the pain they experienced during the attack. One patient even said that he wished he could die immediately rather than live through that pain. However, after the interventional surgery and the use of stents to reopen the coronary artery, the pain disappeared within a few seconds. At that moment, he felt the beauty of life again and did not want to die anymore. 2. What is the premise of myocardial infarction? In fact, it is meaningless to talk about whether people feel pain when they die suddenly due to myocardial infarction. Rather than worrying about the pain caused by the disease, it is better to say that we are afraid of death itself. However, it is precisely because we are afraid of death that we love life more. Therefore, it is more important to take care of yourself, prevent myocardial infarction, and protect your health. Myocardial infarction never happens without cause. Every seemingly sudden myocardial infarction must have been premeditated. Atherosclerosis of the coronary arteries is the prerequisite for myocardial infarction. When atherosclerotic plaques rupture, they activate platelets to aggregate, and then form blood clots, blocking blood vessels. To prevent myocardial infarction, we must avoid coronary artery atherosclerosis. The main causes of arteriosclerosis are high blood pressure, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, smoking, obesity and other factors, which cause damage to the arterial intima, allowing cholesterol in the blood to enter the arterial intima from the damaged area, forming the lipid core of the hardened plaque. Therefore, we must actively control the "three highs", quit smoking, lose weight, adhere to a healthy lifestyle, and avoid atherosclerosis in the arteries, so as to prevent the occurrence of myocardial infarction from the root. 3. Medication after atherosclerosis occurs If atherosclerosis has already occurred, drug treatment is required under the guidance of a doctor. In addition to the normal drugs for controlling the "three highs", the two "cornerstone" drugs for preventing myocardial infarction are statins and aspirin. Statins can lower the level of cholesterol in the blood and slow the progression of atherosclerotic plaques. When the low-density lipoprotein cholesterol (LDL-C) in the blood is reduced to below 1.8mmol/L, it can also reverse the effect of plaques, increase the density of plaques, reduce their volume, and make them less likely to rupture. For people with a high risk of rupture, they need to take aspirin as an antiplatelet. Aspirin can inhibit the aggregation of platelets. When plaques rupture, it can prevent the aggregation of platelets and avoid the formation of blood clots. If you cannot tolerate the side effects of aspirin, you can use other antiplatelet drugs such as clopidogrel or ticagrelor instead. However, aspirin has significant side effects, so it needs to be evaluated by a doctor before taking it. Only those with a high risk of disease and a higher benefit than risk are suitable for taking aspirin. For those with a low risk, they only need to control the "three highs" and take statins. To sum up, it is meaningless to discuss whether sudden death caused by myocardial infarction is painful. The most important thing is to control the "three highs", live a healthy life, use medicines under the guidance of doctors, take good care of your body, and prevent the occurrence of myocardial infarction. If you find any problems during medication, please consult a doctor or pharmacist in time. I am pharmacist Huazi, welcome to follow me and share more health knowledge. |
