Bleeding at 8 months of pregnancy

Bleeding at 8 months of pregnancy

The eighth month of pregnancy is already in the late stage of pregnancy. Pregnant women at this stage only need to wait patiently for the birth of the baby. However, as pregnant women get older, their mobility will become more inconvenient, and they may also experience some physical abnormalities. If a pregnant woman finds bleeding in her lower body during pregnancy, she should find out the cause in time. What should she do if she bleeds in her lower body at 8 months of pregnancy?

What to do if you have bleeding in the eighth month of pregnancy

Sudden spotting at 8 months of pregnancy may be related to a low-lying placenta, which is the most common cause of bleeding in the middle and late stages of pregnancy. It is recommended that you undergo a detailed uterine color Doppler ultrasound examination. Of course, if it is a placenta problem and the bleeding is not too much, you just need to pay attention to rest restrictions and activities. If the bleeding is heavy or lasts for a long time, you can take relevant medications for treatment. In severe cases, it may cause premature birth.

If bright red blood appears, the possibility of placenta previa cannot be ruled out. If there is only a small amount of blood in the stool, it is considered to be caused by a urinary tract infection. You should go to the hospital for a B-ultrasound to see the location of the placenta, and then do a urine test. Symptomatic treatment can be given based on the test results. You should pay attention to rest, reduce activity, drink plenty of water, and keep the external genitalia clean. At the same time, do a B-ultrasound examination, carry out pregnancy preservation treatment under the guidance of a doctor, eat a reasonable diet, increase comprehensive nutrition, and avoid eating irritating foods that are not conducive to the body's recovery.

Generally, spotting occurs 24 hours before labor pains, but it may also occur repeatedly a few days before delivery or even a week before delivery. If there is only a light streak of blood and the amount is not large, the pregnant mother can stay at home to observe and pay attention not to overwork and avoid strenuous exercise. If you experience fresh bleeding, the amount of bleeding exceeds that during your menstrual period, or you experience abdominal pain, you should be hospitalized immediately.

In addition to strictly prohibiting sexual intercourse, you should also maintain emotional stability, avoid tense environments, supplement with adequate nutrition, and take some vitamin E orally. If the embryo is normal and the cause of the miscarriage is eliminated after rest and treatment, the bleeding will stop and the pregnancy can continue.
