An unreliable method to distinguish common poisonous mushrooms

In recent times, poisoning incidents caused by poisonous mushrooms have occurred one after another. Here are some common and unreliable methods for identifying poisonous mushrooms.

1. Myth: "The ones with pretty colors are poisonous, and the white ones are not."
Fact: Many poisonous mushrooms are light-colored or white, such as the deadly Amanita phalloides, which is pure white, and the Amanita muscaria, which is even more plain, but these mushrooms are all deadly.

2. Rumor: "Stir-frying garlic can detoxify"
Fact: Garlic does not contain any substance that can remove mushroom toxins, and frying garlic does not help.

3. Myth: “Mushrooms that grow on certain wood are not poisonous”
Fact: This statement is not entirely unreasonable, because many mushrooms have specific growth conditions, such as chicken fir, which grows in termite nests. However, in many areas of similar environments, there are also poisonous species distributed, which is very troublesome.

Mushroom identification is an extremely complicated matter. Even the edible mushroom family is often mixed with poisonous species.

There are as many as 199 edible species of porcini in China, of which 45 species are found in the Yunnan market alone, 31 of which are common.

But at the same time, there are as many as 33 types of poisonous boletus. If you randomly collect wild boletus, the chance of poisoning is very high!!!

In 2011, Li Shuhong, a researcher at the Kunming Institute of Botany, Chinese Academy of Sciences, collected 310 commercial boletes in Yunnan, including five poisonous boletes, including green-capped bolete, round-flowered bolete, yellow-powdered bolete, purple-capped bolete and microspore bolete.

The toxicity of these boletus is divided into two categories: gastrointestinal toxicity and neurotoxicity. For example, sticky boletus and yellow powder boletus can cause strong intestinal reactions, while fine web-stemmed boletus can even cause hemolysis and liver damage. Gastrointestinal toxic boletus can not only cause nausea and vomiting, but can even cause gastric bleeding. If not treated in time, there is a risk of life.

Fortunately, there are relatively few cases of death from boletus poisoning, but there are still many poisonous mushrooms that have a deceptive and vicious method of deceiving people - false recovery period. Among them, the most typical one is the deadly Amanita. Soon after eating this mushroom, the eater will experience severe reactions such as nausea and vomiting, and then the symptoms will gradually ease. If you think you are safe, you are wrong. At this time, the transaminase in the eater's body has risen sharply, and the liver has been damaged. After 48 hours, the discomfort symptoms reappear. At this time, even if Hua Tuo is alive, there is nothing he can do. Therefore, if you experience discomfort after eating wild mushrooms, you must take the sample to the hospital for professional help as soon as possible. Don't miss the golden period of treatment because of a momentary fluke.

If you have been poisoned, please use the following treatment methods:
1. Induce vomiting,
2. Keep the sample and go to the hospital for medical treatment immediately.

Don't put your hopes on some folk remedies for detoxification, such as drinking mung bean soup, eating garlic, etc., as these are not helpful for detoxification.

The best choice is to cherish life and stay away from wild mushrooms.
