What should I do if there is blood in my menstrual period?

Some women have problems with their menstruation, so female patients should pay attention to conducting corresponding examinations to ensure their health and avoid dangerous situations in the female body due to menstrual problems. If there are problems, they need to pay attention to taking timely treatment methods. So what should I do if there is blood in my menstruation? Let me introduce this issue to you below.

Ovulation bleeding: small amount, lasting 1 to 3 days, the cause is unknown. It is not clear whether it is caused by excessive drop in blood estrogen levels before ovulation or excessive sensitivity of the endometrium to estrogen fluctuations. Bleeding occurs sometimes and does not occur sometimes, and is generally treated symptomatically to stop bleeding.

Premenstrual bleeding (luteal phase bleeding): lasts for varying days. It may be due to insufficient luteal function or premature degeneration. Progesterone can be supplemented before bleeding, or medication can be used during the follicular phase to improve luteal function.

Prolonged menstrual period (follicular phase bleeding): lasting for more than 7 days and still not stopping, it may be due to insufficient estrogen secretion by new follicles, poor endometrial repair, or abnormal corpus luteum degeneration, causing incomplete endometrial shedding. Small doses of estrogen can be given from day 5 to 7 of the menstrual cycle to promote endometrial repair, or progesterone can be used during the luteal phase of the premenstrual cycle to promote regular endometrial shedding.

If non-menstrual bleeding occurs, you should also pay attention to organic diseases, such as cervicitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, atypical endometrial hyperplasia or polyps, etc.

There are two main reasons that affect menstruation:

1. Neuroendocrine dysfunction: such as excessive mental stress, changes in environment and climate, malnutrition or metabolic disorders, gynecological inflammatory diseases, etc., mainly defects in the hypothalamus-pituitary-ovarian axis, that is, menstrual disorders.

2. Caused by organic diseases or drugs: including local inflammation of reproductive organs, tumors and developmental abnormalities, malnutrition, etc.

The above is my opinion on this issue. If a female patient has the above problems, the patient should pay attention to take appropriate methods for treatment in a timely manner to avoid situations that affect the patient's safety and are not conducive to the patient's safety. Finally, I wish the patient a speedy recovery and avoid danger.
