What is the problem with manual transmission mis-shifting?

Manual transmission random gear shifting occurs when the clutch is in normal technical condition, but the transmission is in two gears or the required gear at the same time, but then it shifts into another gear or cannot shift to neutral after shifting into a gear.

Manual transmission cars currently on the market rarely shift out of gear without maintenance.

Cause

① The interlocking device fails, such as excessive wear of the fork shaft, interlocking pin or interlocking steel ball;

② The arc-shaped working surface at the lower end of the shift lever is excessively worn or the groove of the shift block on the shift fork shaft is excessively worn;

③The shift lever ball head locating pin is broken or the ball hole or ball head is worn and too loose.

In short, the main reason for random gear shifting is the failure of the transmission control mechanism.

How to correct the gearbox out of gear

First of all, all the excessive clearances of the gear-shifting mechanism must be completely eliminated, and all the ball heads with large clearances must be replaced. Then check whether the small cover of the gearbox is worn during gear selection. If the wear is too large, it needs to be welded and polished. Check whether the plug-in is worn. If the wear is too large, it needs to be welded, filled and polished. Continue to check the synchronizers on all gears. If the clearance is too large, replace it immediately. If the clearance of the front and rear bearings of the first and second shafts is too large, they also need to be replaced!

Open the gear shift cover to see if the connecting rod screw has fallen off. If it has fallen off, put it back to the neutral position and put it back. If it has not fallen off, open the engine hood to see if the synchronizer connecting rod screw on the transmission has fallen off. If both screws are not fallen off, they need to be repaired as soon as possible.

What to do if the manual transmission slips

1. First check the wear and separation of the clutch to see if it can be separated completely?

2. There is no friction plate in manual transmission, only automatic transmission has friction plates.

3. Generally, if the synchronizer is severely worn, it will cause difficulty in shifting gears and even cause gear knocking.

4. When the shift fork shift mechanism is severely worn, the shift fork may not shift the gear into place.
