How to remove scale in the engine water channel

Without overhauling the engine, there is no good way to clean the water channels on the engine. Radiator cleaners or engine water channel cleaners have basically no effective effect.

The scale in the water tank can be removed by dismantling the water tank, taking it down and slowly cleaning it with a detergent, but this method is not enough to clean the scale in the water tank! If there is enough scale in the water tank, it is recommended to replace the water tank!

In addition, pay attention to the water pump and thermostat. If there is a lot of scale, it will cause poor circulation of the antifreeze and easily cause high temperature!

It is recommended to replace the antifreeze regularly. When replacing, the old liquid should be drained out, the cooling system should be cleaned, and then the new liquid should be replaced. Traditional inorganic antifreeze should also be avoided from being diluted with water, as it will form precipitation and seriously affect the normal function of the antifreeze.

Why is there scale in the engine?

In the engine cooling system, the root cause of scale formation is the water quality problem. The water contained in the coolant used in the engine is usually not softened and contains a certain amount of calcium and magnesium salts. These usually undergo some physical and chemical changes as the temperature of the coolant rises and the pressure changes, eventually forming solid deposits attached to the inside of the cooling system.

Oxidation will occur in the water jacket of the engine, causing rust. In addition, when the cooling water is hard water, it contains a large amount of minerals. After the temperature rises, these minerals will precipitate and form scale. If distilled water is used, this will not happen.

How to avoid engine scale

To prevent the formation of rust and scale, the following measures can be taken:

(1) Add rust inhibitor;

(2) Add soft water as much as possible, or tap water;

(3) Maintain the water level of the radiator to prevent air from entering the water jacket in order to reduce the generation of rust;

(4) To protect the cooling system, it is best to use antifreeze, otherwise the water jacket will swell and break easily due to freezing in cold weather;

(5) Prevent radiator leakage and reduce the number of water additions. At the same time, reduce the number of water changes to prevent excessive scale from forming.
