How to soak your feet with safflower

Take 10-15 grams (about a handful) of safflower and put it in a pot with half a pot of water. Cover the pot and boil it with hot water for about 10 minutes. After boiling, pour out all the ginger water and add an appropriate amount of cold water to about 40℃ (generally, it is appropriate not to feel hot). When soaking your feet, the water should cover the ankles to prevent and improve frostbite. Every winter, some people's hands and feet often crack and break, but once this happens, it takes a long time to recover. Choosing to soak your feet with safflower can also prevent this from happening to a certain extent.

If you use 30-50 grams of dried mugwort and 10-15 grams of safflower to boil water and use it for foot soaking, it can also improve blood circulation, prevent and relieve varicose veins and peripheral neuritis.

If you have poor blood circulation, numbness in your hands and feet, or blood stasis in your lower limbs, you can soak your feet with these two herbs. After soaking your feet, not only can the blood circulation problem be improved, but also the sleep quality can be improved to a certain extent. Soaking your feet with safflower and wormwood during a cold can also play a certain therapeutic role.

Warning: Do not use safflower to soak your feet if you have high blood pressure

A foot-soaking recipe began to circulate on the Internet: mugwort + safflower. Some patients began to follow suit, but many of them went to the hospital for treatment. Most of them were patients with hypertension. After soaking their feet with this recipe, they felt dizzy and their blood pressure fluctuated greatly.

Hypertensive patients should not

Experts believe that both mugwort and safflower have the effects of warming the meridians, dispelling cold, activating blood circulation and unblocking collaterals. If hypertensive patients use this recipe to soak their feet, they are prone to ischemia and dizziness.

Patients with high blood pressure are suitable for soaking their feet with chrysanthemum, wolfberry, mulberry leaf, salvia miltiorrhiza and a little borneol. Women with weak constitutions, such as those with dysmenorrhea, irregular menstruation and purple complexion, can soak their feet with wormwood leaves.

For middle-aged and elderly people with qi deficiency, you can choose tonic drugs such as Codonopsis pilosula, Astragalus membranaceus, and Atractylodes macrocephala. For middle-aged and elderly people who need to invigorate blood circulation and nourish the kidney, you can choose Angelica sinensis, Red Peony Root, Safflower, and Chuanduan. When soaking your feet, take 15-20 grams of each medicine, boil it in a casserole, then pour the decoction into a bucket, add hot water, and soak for 30 minutes every day.

It should be noted that metal or plastic basins should not be used for foot bathing with Chinese medicine, otherwise the effective ingredients of the medicine will be lost. If there are new damages or wounds on the skin, stop using Chinese medicine foot bathing.
