Uneven ground

If the cement floor is not leveled, the base is not properly treated, or the dust layer and local sand on the ground are not cleaned, the ground will be uneven. If the ground itself is uneven, the wooden floor will also be uneven, and it will naturally make strange noises when you walk on it.

The reserved gap is unreasonable

Whether it is ceramic tiles or wooden floors, "gaps" must be left when laying them in order to prevent "thermal expansion and contraction". The properties of wooden boards are that they shrink when dry and expand when wet, and expand when hot and contract when cold. If the reserved gaps are unreasonable, too narrow or too wide, the wooden floors will squeeze each other, and the friction of the edges of the wooden boards will increase when walking, which will cause abnormal noises.

Improper furniture placement

You can compare the wooden floor to a scale. If one side bears a lot of weight, the other side will naturally tilt up. In addition, if your furniture is not placed properly, the two ends of the wooden floor will be pressed down, making it unable to expand and contract freely, which will cause local bulging and squeezing, resulting in abnormal noise.

Improper handling of moisture-proof measures

Before laying wooden floor, you need to make a moisture-proof isolation layer between the wooden floor and the keel, or seal the isolation layer completely. If there is no moisture-proof, not only the wooden floor will be damp, but the keel will also be damp, the quality will be reduced, and people will squeak when walking on it.

Keel paving problem

Do you think that laying wooden floor is just laying wooden blocks on the ground? Of course not. Before laying wooden floor, you need to make keels, which are the core of wooden floor. If the keels are not well made, it will affect the installation of wooden floor. There are two problems with keel installation. The first is that the spacing is too large. If it exceeds 35cm or even 45cm, the force will be unbalanced, which will easily cause the wooden floor to bend, resulting in abnormal noise due to friction.

Another reason is that the moisture content of the keel is too high. If the keel is not dried, the quality will deteriorate over time and become uneven and tilted, and the wooden floor will naturally make strange noises.

Paving technology is not standardized

The last reason is the problem of laying craftsmanship. If the master who lays the wooden floor cuts corners, has poor craftsmanship, and does not lay the wood in a standardized manner, there will definitely be many problems, including of course unusual noises.

The reason why the newly laid wooden floor makes a "creaking" sound does not necessarily mean that there is a problem with the quality of the wooden floor. It is best to find out the reason so that you can find the right remedy to solve the problem.

Why is there a noise when the newly installed floor

When you are renovating your home and the floor has just been installed, there is a sound when you step on it. There are the following reasons:

① The new paving groove has not been run-in, and it rubs and makes noise.

② The groove is too tight, the floor nails are too tight, and when you step on them, gravity bends, causing friction and noise.

③ The floor should have gaps. If there are not enough gaps, the ground will be damp and expand, which will cause the floor to bulge slightly in the middle, which is invisible to the naked eye. When you step on it, it will rub and make a sound.

④The moisture-proof membrane is not padded, the ground is damp, it expands due to moisture, and when you step on it, it rubs and makes noise.

⑤ The heavy objects are placed asymmetrically, causing the floor to bulge and deform, causing friction and noise when stepped on.

What should I do if the floor makes a noise when I step on it?

When you step on a certain part, there will be a little noise during the running-in period, which is normal and will disappear naturally in 2-4 months.

If there is too much space between the floor and the ground, or the floor joists are too sparse, and the floor bends when you step on it, it is due to irresponsible installation and technical problems. You will be required to rework.

Removing the floor and reworking it is a headache, time-consuming and troublesome task, and it will damage the floor. No one wants to do that.

Small problem, eliminate the sound, solution:

⒈Sprinkle talcum powder between the gaps of the floor to lubricate the gaps.

⒉ Soak the detergent in water and inject it into the gap with a syringe.

⒊ If the edge gap is too large, use foam glue to reinforce it.

⒋ When the single block makes a sound, step on it and use 502 glue to draw glue along the four sides.
