Why does the float stand upright after the fishhook is in the water for several seconds? Why does the lead intake change after adjusting the float?

The float has buoyancy and floats on the water surface without external force (lead sinker, figure-8 ring, fish hook). The standing time of the float is not uniform and should be adjusted according to the actual situation of fishing. If the fish is seriously disturbing the hook, the time needs to be reduced. If the fish is away from the bottom, the time needs to be increased.

Why does the fishhook float after a few seconds in the water?

When we cast the rod into the water, the line group, that is, the main line and the sub-line, will have two downward swings:

First hem: the main line is in place

At the beginning, the float lies horizontally on the water surface. This is because the main line has not yet swung down to the right position. When the lead sinker brings the main line down to a state perpendicular to the water surface, the float will turn over and stand up.

Second hem: The main line is in place

Since the weight of the lead pendant is heavier than the weight of the hook bait, the sub-line will swing down much slower than the main line. That is to say, after the main line swings down, the sub-line is still in the process of swinging down, so the float will not start to sink immediately after turning over and standing up, but will pause for a short time.

When the sub-line is swung to a position perpendicular to the water surface, the float will begin to sink at full speed until the hook and bait touch the bottom, and the float will stop sinking and expose the fishing eye.

The speed at which the float turns over and stands up is related to the length of the float

The short-legged float has a smaller turning radius, so it turns over faster. The long-legged float has a larger turning radius, so it turns over slower.

This feature can be used to deal with different fishing situations. For example, when there are many small fish in the upper and middle layers, we can choose a short-legged float to make the float quickly turn over and start to sink, which can prevent small fish from intercepting the bait ball to the greatest extent. When the bottom fish start to leave the bottom, we can choose a long-legged float to make the float turn over more slowly and stay near the water surface longer, which can better induce the fish away from the bottom to bite the hook.

The speed at which the float turns over and stands up is related to the amount of lead it eats

The more lead the float takes, the heavier the lead weight is, the faster the main line swings into place, so the faster the float turns over and stands up. The less lead the float takes, the lighter the lead weight is, the slower the main line swings into place, so the slower the float turns over and stands up.

Why does the lead intake change after adjusting the float?

When adjusting the float, the wind line is not pressed, resulting in different fishing points

If we do not press the wind line when adjusting the float, and the wind line does not sink into the water, the wind line will bend under the action of water flow or wind, causing the line group to be pulled back and the fishing eye to rise.

Casting the rod fully without pulling back the line group will result in different fishing targets

If you cast the full rod when adjusting the float but do not pull back the line group, the fishing line will rebound and cause the fishing point to change due to its ductility.

Different weight of bait each time leads to different fishing targets

This is easy to understand. If the weight of the bait is different each time, the fishing point will of course be different.

There are weeds or the bottom of the water is uneven, which leads to different fishing points

This is also an important factor that affects the change of fishing eyes. Because we cannot see the bottom of the water, the same length of waterline but uneven bottom will also cause different fishing eyes. In addition, if there are weeds and other debris on the bottom of the water, this situation will also occur.

Different fishing targets caused by water flow

Water movement is caused by the upward and downward convection of water, and our line group floats in the water, so it will appear to move, but this is easy to judge.

Why can't I catch any fish when I'm fishing?

1. The hook is too big for small fish to eat. It is recommended to change to a small hook. If you pull it frequently, you will definitely be able to catch small fish.

2. If the little fish are making noise, you can hang them up if you pull them frequently.

3. Silver carp enters the nest. This is usually the culprit for not being able to catch a bite, because its water layer is unstable, and it often causes various false signals when it touches your line. Only when they are wandering in the low layer, sometimes you can catch 1 or 2, and you may also hook them on the mouth or anchor them, but the probability is not high.

4. If a big fish really enters the nest, tests your bait, eats the bait on the edge of your nest, and touches your main line and sub-line, please be patient and wait, and you can tease it a little.

5. A big fish passed by.

As long as you observe carefully, every false signal has its reason, and you will understand what is going on if you analyze it carefully.
