Because the goldfish flower likes high humidity, it needs to be watered frequently during management. Generally, water more in spring, summer and autumn, and keep the soil dry in winter. If you water it a lot in winter, it will inevitably cause the goldfish flower to rot.

If the soil where the goldfish flower is planted becomes compacted, it will also cause the roots to rot. You should repot the plant.

How to deal with root rot of goldfish flower

1. After removing the pot and soil, use a sterilized knife to carefully remove the rotten parts, leaving only the healthier parts.

2. Dilute carbendazim with water, soak the treated roots in the carbendazim water for half an hour, then take them out and let them air dry for half a day.

3. Prepare nutrient soil. The potting soil for goldfish flowers should be loose, fertile, well-drained and well-ventilated sandy loam rich in organic matter. It is best to use peat soil or leaf mold for planting, or use perlite and peat soil mixed in different proportions to make it slightly acidic to facilitate growth. In addition, you can mix an appropriate amount of rooting powder into the soil.

4. Plant the goldfish flower in the pot, fill it with soil, and gently press the soil until it is firm. If the leaves droop severely, you can use a stick to help support it.
