Why does the car feel dull when the air conditioner is turned on in hot weather? What should I do if the car is foggy when the air conditioner is turned on in winter?

The air conditioning system in the car can give the passengers a certain sense of comfort. In summer, if the air conditioner is turned on in the car, some people will obviously feel that the vehicle is underpowered and lacks strength. This is actually a normal phenomenon. In winter, it is also very common for the windshield to fog up when the air conditioner is turned on.

Why does it feel boring to drive with air conditioning on hot days?

This is a very normal situation. This problem will not exist for large-displacement models, but it will occur for naturally aspirated engines.

For vehicles, the high temperature in summer will cause the engine to be under a relatively large load when working, especially for small-displacement engines.

This is related to the vehicle's air-conditioning system. The working of the air-conditioning system is that after the car air-conditioning system is started, the engine drives the air-conditioning compressor to work. The compressor will drive the refrigerant to circulate in the sealed air-conditioning system, and after flowing into the condenser through the pipeline, it is sent to the drying bottle for pressurization, so that the vehicle can blow out cold air.

And it produces a cooling effect, and the production of refrigeration is inseparable from the engine and compressor. According to the existing automobile air-conditioning technology, the air compressor will consume a certain amount of engine power after it is started. According to the power of the existing compressor, it basically occupies 2% of the engine's power, so it will feel very strenuous after starting.

What to do if the car interior is foggy when the air conditioner is turned on in winter

Generally speaking, you don't need to turn on the air conditioner when driving in winter. You can just turn on the heater when the water temperature rises.

The main reason for fogging inside the car windows is the large temperature difference between inside and outside the car. The temperature in the cab is higher than that outside, so the water vapor attached to the inner windshield fogs and condenses.

There are several solutions to fogging up the windshield in winter:

1. Open the car window a little before the water temperature rises.

2. Wait until the fog has dispersed before turning on the heater, and adjust the air conditioner to the windshield blowing mode. The hot air will make the temperature inside the glass higher than the temperature inside the car, and the glass will no longer fog up, and the fog will evaporate.

3. Wipe the inside of the windshield with a special anti-fog agent.

Does turning on the car heater consume fuel?

There will certainly be some fuel consumption, but not a lot.

Car heating is different from home air conditioning. Car engines generate a lot of heat during the fuel injection and combustion process, and need to be cooled by circulating coolant to keep the engine running in the appropriate temperature range.

The coolant carries away the excess heat and exchanges heat through the radiator. In fact, the fuel consumption that generates excess heat is wasted. By adding a circulation system to the small circulation of the engine cooling system to form a large circulation, the engine coolant can better exchange heat during the circulation process. The added circulation system includes the in-vehicle heating system.

Therefore, the car heater only maximizes the efficiency of the fuel consumed by the normal operation of the engine and makes the best use of the heat generated by the normal operation of the engine. It does not require additional occupation or increase the burden on the engine, so there is no need for additional fuel consumption.
