What is the reason for the car's unusual noise? What is the problem when the car's steering wheel makes unusual noises?

After driving a car for a long time, it will have more or less abnormal noises, which is a normal phenomenon. There are many reasons for abnormal noises in the car, involving multiple parts. Sometimes you can't know exactly what the cause is, so how to check it?

What is the reason for the car to make strange noises?

Interior noise

This is a common reason. This is mainly caused by the inadequate workmanship or assembly process of the interior parts. If there is an abnormal noise from the interior parts, it is difficult to find out what caused it, because the abnormal noise of the interior parts is internal, and it is difficult to find the cause.

Abnormal chassis noise

This is the abnormal sound of the chassis suspension parts due to low temperature, which is a normal phenomenon. In winter, many cars will have abnormal squeaking noises, which will disappear after driving a certain distance. This can be considered as the reason.

If there is a problem with the chassis suspension parts, abnormal noises may also occur. For example, if the ball head is severely worn, the shock absorber is damaged, the balance rubber sleeve or the suspension head is worn, a "dong dong dong" noise may be heard, and if the pressure bearing is damaged, a "grinding creaking" noise may be heard.

Abnormal noise in transmission system

For example, when the outer ball cage is worn, the vehicle will easily make a rattling noise when turning, and if the inner ball cage is short of oil, it will also make a slight noise.

Brake noise

Many cars have strange noises when braking or not. The main reason for the strange noises is that the brake pad material is too hard, which causes a squeaking noise when we brake or start driving.

Engine abnormal noise

Direct injection engines will have a rattling noise, which is the sound made by the high-pressure pump. If the generator belt is loose, it will make a squeaking sound. If the timing chain is too loose, it will make a rattling sound. If the engine knocks, there will be a crisp clicking sound. If the valve rocker arm clearance is too large, there will be a rattling sound. If the power steering system is short of oil, there will be a buzzing sound.

Bearing abnormal noise

The wheel hub bearings, generator bearings, air conditioning compressor bearings, timing belt tensioner bearings, and gearbox bearings are more likely to produce abnormal noises. If these bearings are damaged, they will produce buzzing noises. We need to check them carefully to find out what is causing the abnormal noises.

What is the problem when the car steering wheel makes unusual noises?

If it is issued in the car, the airbag under the steering wheel and the cross universal joint in the steering column must be checked to see if they are normal. Wear or failure of these two parts will lead to the so-called fault.

If the abnormal noise comes from outside the car, you need to check whether the flat bearing above the front shock absorber is worn, whether the steering ball head is loose, and whether the gear rack inside the steering gear is worn. Failure of these three components may cause the vehicle failure you mentioned.

What is the reason for the car's sudden acceleration noise?

In this case, first check whether the current vehicle speed and gear match. If the current vehicle speed is low and you force a high gear, you will feel that the acceleration is weak and there will be a "la la" sound from the chassis. If the operation is fine, check whether the oil used is poor and causes the engine knocking sound. Try changing to another gas station or adding a higher grade of fuel to see if there is any improvement.

If a "clattering" sound is heard from the chassis when the clutch is depressed or in a semi-clutch state, it is most likely that the clutch release bearing is damaged. When the clutch is released and the vehicle is accelerating, no abnormal sound is heard unless the clutch release bearing is severely damaged due to lack of oil. In this case, abnormal sound may be heard during acceleration or normal driving.

If the vehicle suddenly accelerates and there is a metallic knocking sound in the chassis, it is best to go to a 4S store or repair shop to have a technician test drive the car and check whether the chassis suspension parts are abnormally loose or there are other reasons. The specific cause of the abnormal noise requires an actual vehicle inspection to better determine.
