What is the reason for the oil leakage from the right rear wheel of the car?

We often see some cars leaving a streak of oil on the road after driving. Although the leakage is not much, for driving safety, even if there is a drop of oil leakage, it should be carefully checked. After all, oil is flammable and explosive, and it will ignite even with a spark. So what is the reason for the oil leakage from the rear wheel of the car?

What is the problem of oil leakage from the right rear wheel of the car?

It may be that the rear axle oil seal is broken, causing gear oil leakage.

If the braking effect is not affected, then the cause of brake fluid leakage can be ruled out. The rear axle mainly contains differentials and half shafts. The differential is located in the central gear package, and the two half shafts transmit power to the wheels on both sides. The rear axle cavity contains gear oil, which is used to lubricate the differential. Under normal circumstances, there is not much gear oil in the rear axle, and it is mainly lubricated by splashing when the differential rotates. There are oil seals at both ends of the rear axle to prevent gear oil from leaking from both sides.

It is recommended to replace the rear axle oil seal. Do not add too much gear oil. It is enough to cover part of the differential. The differential will bring up the gear oil during rotation, so do not add too much, otherwise the oil seal will be damaged.

What is the reason for car wheel oil leakage?

There is a differential vent valve on the top of the differential, twist it back and forth first. If there is oil leakage from the wheel hubs at both ends, then the vent valve is blocked.

Next, check the amount of lubricating oil in the differential. If the amount of lubricating oil increases, check the quality of the lubricating oil and replace it if any abnormality is found. Because when the vehicle is flooded, water can easily enter through the vent.

If everything is normal, disassemble and check the rear wheel oil seal, and check the butter in the shaft head. You don't need too much butter, just apply it on the bearing, otherwise it will not be good for the heat dissipation of the wheel hub. If the wheel hub temperature is too high, the butter will melt, the pressure in the wheel hub will increase, and the oil seal will burst. It is recommended to directly replace the shaft head oil seal, and you can also check whether the half shaft oil seal needs to be replaced.

What is the function of the grooves on car wheels?

First, it enhances adhesion, that is, grip, to ensure that the vehicle is stable and will not deviate from the direction of travel, especially when driving on rough and bumpy roads. The grooves allow the vehicle to better adhere to the ground when turning, accelerating, and braking.

In addition, on rainy days, the water when the tire contacts the ground can be discharged from the grooves, so the slippery road surface on rainy days can also be gripped well. If there is no pattern, there will be a layer of water film between the tire and the road, which will cause slipping.

Another reason is aesthetics.
