Does stringy leucorrhea during ovulation mean ovulation? Why does stringy leucorrhea occur during ovulation?

We all know that women who are trying to get pregnant usually have sex during their ovulation period, which makes it easier to conceive and increases the chances of pregnancy. Women will experience many symptoms during their ovulation period, and some people will judge whether they are ovulating based on the condition of their leucorrhea. So does stringy leucorrhea during ovulation mean ovulation? Let's take a closer look!

Does stringy vaginal discharge during ovulation mean ovulation?

Generally speaking, if the menstruation is regular, the 14th day before the next menstruation is the ovulation day, and the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation are the ovulation period. If a woman wants to increase the chance of pregnancy, she must calculate the ovulation day, and leucorrhea drawing is one of the ways to detect whether a woman has ovulated.

During the ovulation period, women will have a small amount of cervical mucus for several days in a row, and the amount will increase day by day. It is egg white-like, colorless and odorless, but can be stretched by hand. The day when the leucorrhea is the longest is the ovulation day, and the egg will be discharged from the woman's body on this day.

Because the amount of cervical mucus is relatively small, women should wipe it gently when going to the toilet and observe the secretions on the tissue to see if they can be stretched and whether the amount changes every day. It requires careful observation several times to accurately calculate the ovulation day.

However, if a woman does not find any stringy vaginal discharge during the ovulation period, it does not mean that no egg is released, because ovulation does not only have this one feature.

Why does leucorrhea appear during ovulation?

One day before ovulation, there will be a peak in the secretion of estrogen in women, which will promote the pituitary gland to produce follicle-forming hormone (LH), causing the follicles to mature and be discharged. The ovulation test paper we commonly use detects the concentration of LH in urine.

The peak of estrogen secretion will cause an increase in cervical mucus production. At the same time, due to the high protein content, the viscosity of the mucus increases, which manifests as stringy leucorrhea, "the lotus root is broken but the silk thread is still there".

In addition, the physical changes during ovulation include: breast tenderness, dull pain or swelling in one side of the lower abdomen, increased sexual desire, etc.

However, it is a bit far-fetched to judge ovulation based on the stringy leucorrhea. Not all ovulations will have stringy leucorrhea, and stringy leucorrhea does not necessarily mean ovulation.

What are the symptoms of female ovulation?

1. Ovulation test paper shows positive result

During the ovulation period, women need to measure three times a day, once every 4-6 hours. If the ovulation test paper is found to change from strong positive to weak positive, the egg will be discharged within 24-48 hours. If you want to get pregnant, you must seize this good time to have sex.

2. Follicle maturation

Women with menstrual disorders, irregular ovulation, poor follicular development, and long menstrual intervals need to use B-ultrasound to detect ovulation because it is difficult to confirm the ovulation period. The follicles begin to develop and gradually mature. When mature, the follicles are oval and 20-25 mm in size. Having sex during this period makes it easier to get pregnant.

3. Ovulation bleeding and lower abdominal pain

Some women may experience a small amount of bleeding or slight abdominal pain during ovulation due to rupture of the follicle.
