Why does the skin of pregnant women become darker?

During pregnancy, women's bodies will undergo certain changes, such as changes in skin color. Some pregnant women will have rough skin, which makes everyone very worried, and everyone does not want their skin to become darker. Why does pregnant women have dark skin?

1. Reasons for rough skin in pregnant women

The rough areas of the skin during pregnancy and childbirth are mostly on the face, forehead and neck. The main manifestations are: different black or brown pigmentation patches. The appearance of pigmentation such as spots and freckles is due to the presence of gray-black germ cells under the skin that can produce pigments. Because of the influence of estrogen and estrogen, the number of active cells of gray-black germ cells will increase significantly. Therefore, with the increase of pregnancy days, pregnancy-related liver spots mainly characterized by pigmentation and freckles will appear under the eyes. In addition, there will be obvious pigmentation in the area where the pigment is concentrated. A line in the center of the abdomen will turn brown. It is also common for the nipples and nipples and armpits to appear gray and black around them.

Gray germ cells are not only active under the influence of growth hormone, but also greatly increase the number of gray germ cells in response to external stimuli such as ultraviolet light.

The pigmentation produced during pregnancy varies from person to person, but it will gradually fade after giving birth. However, most of them will not disappear completely, and it may take a long time for them to fade.

2. Where the skin of pregnant women is rough

1. Face

Pregnant women will develop chloasma due to pregnancy on their faces 3-5 months after conception, which will gradually disappear after delivery. If the melanocytes are not only active under the influence of hormones, external stimuli such as ultraviolet light will also greatly increase the number of melanocytes. The appearance of pigmentation such as chloasma and freckles is due to the presence of gray-black germ cells that can produce pigments under the skin. Therefore, with the increase of pregnancy days, pregnancy-related liver spots mainly characterized by pigmentation and freckles will appear under the eyes.

2. Nipple, nipple

After pregnancy, due to the increase in the secretion of adrenaline and luteinizing hormone, the nipples may also appear pigmented, making the nipples and nipples look darker and yellower, and seem to turn black. This is actually a normal skin change during pregnancy, and most of them will gradually disappear after giving birth.

3. Neck, armpits, abdomen

In addition to freckles on the face and darkening around the nipples, rough skin during pregnancy is also reflected in parts of the body such as the neck, armpits and abdomen. The precipitation of melanin makes these places look like they are not clean, dark and even have some texture, which makes pregnant women feel very embarrassed.
