Do I need to water the moon when it is dormant? What should I do if I water it too much?

With the improvement of living standards, many people will grow one or two pots of plants at home, and the succulent moon plant is deeply loved by people because it does not take up space, has a beautiful shape and can purify the air. However, many people kill the moon plant in a few days due to watering errors. Let's take a look at the tips for watering the moon plant.

Do I need to water the plant when it is dormant?

The moonflower likes a sunny, warm and dry environment and is drought-resistant. During cultivation, the air humidity can be slightly higher, but the soil should not be waterlogged, otherwise the roots will rot. During high temperatures in summer, the plant grows slowly or completely stops (sempervivum). It can be placed in a well-ventilated place for maintenance, avoiding exposure to the sun, and watering and fertilizing in moderation. At this time, watering is basically not required, but the plant can be sprayed with water to cool it down.

What should I do if I water the moon too much?

If you water your succulents too much, take them to a well-ventilated place in time, give them more light, or add an electric fan to blow it artificially, so that the excess water in the pot soil can evaporate quickly, and keep the soil in a moist but not silted state. In this way, it will not rot, and we can continue to maintain it normally. If your succulents have rotten roots due to excessive watering, remove the soil and change the pot in time, trim the roots, and then dry the wound and change the soil for cultivation, so that it can be completely saved.

How often should I water the moon?

1. Watering in spring and autumn: This is the growing season of the plant, and the plant needs relatively more water. It should be watered once every 10 days or so, and each time it should be watered thoroughly. Of course, 10 days is just a reference. Everyone should mainly observe the soil conditions, and it is best to keep it slightly moist without water accumulation.

2. Watering of the Moonflower in summer: When the temperature rises above 35℃, the Moonflower will enter a dormant period. At this time, you should gradually stop watering, but do not cut off the water supply directly. You can water it only after the temperature drops, which is around late September.

3. Watering of the Moonflower in winter: The temperature is low in winter, the growth of the Moonflower slows down, and watering should be reduced. However, as long as the temperature is not lower than 0℃, watering should not be stopped. If the temperature drops below 0℃, all water and fertilizer work can be stopped, otherwise frostbite will easily occur. In short, when watering the Moonflower in winter, the pot soil should be kept dry and watered appropriately.

What happens if you water the moon too much?

Whether it is the Moonflower or other succulents, try not to water them too frequently. The death of most plants is related to watering, especially succulents. The soil in the pot must not accumulate water, otherwise they will easily die from waterlogging.
