What is the matter with the money string drying up? What should I do if the succulent money string dries up?

With the improvement of living standards, many people will grow one or two pots of plants at home, and the succulent money tree is deeply loved by people because it does not take up space and is easy to survive. So what is the matter with the money tree? What should I do if the succulent money tree dries up? Let's take a look.

What happened to the money string?

Many leaves and branches under the Money String have turned black and dried, indicating that it has been infected with black rot and there is no possibility of it turning green again. This is caused by improper watering and poor ventilation during maintenance or wound infection. Specifically, it may be that too much water was applied at a time, or the water may have been on the lower leaves of the Money String and not evaporated in time, and the water may have been on the lower aging leaves or the wounds of the old leaves that fell off, causing infection. The blackening of the branches from the bottom indicates that the root system has problems and has no absorption function. If you wait any longer, the whole pot will be destroyed. It is not just the Money String, many succulents die in summer due to improper watering and poor ventilation.

What to do if the succulent money string is dry

1. Self-consumption during dormancy

The best growth period for money string is from September to June of the following year. July and August are the dormant period of money string. This is mainly because the temperature in these two months is relatively high, which affects the growth of succulent plants. Usually, money string stops growing when the temperature is above 30 degrees. The root system also stops absorbing water. It is obvious that the leaves have no reaction after watering, the leaf color fades, and there is no sign of growth in the leaf heart. That is the dormant period.

2. Leaves close to the soil are dried

Friends who have planted millet stars and money strings should have experienced that the leaves close to the soil or close to the soil are very easy to dry out, especially those grown outdoors or planted in the ground. Because the temperature on the soil surface is high and the leaves of money strings are relatively small, they are easily dried out. Even in spring and autumn, under the premise of exposure to the sun, the bottom leaves are the first to dry out.

3. Sunburn after watering or rain

After watering, the leaves should be blown dry. If water drops hang on the leaves, they will be easily sunburned when exposed to the sun. Therefore, it is best to water in the evening and blow dry the water drops in time to avoid sunburn.

Money string maintenance precautions

1. If the money tree is well maintained, its leaves will be thick. So shade it appropriately in summer and avoid exposure to the scorching sun, which can easily cause the leaves to dry and wrinkle. At the same time, it is relatively drought-resistant. If it lacks water too much, its leaves will dry easily, but it has strong vitality and will not die easily. Keep the pot soil moist during the growing period and avoid waterlogging, otherwise it will easily rot.

2. When the temperature is too high in summer, do not provide excessive shade, otherwise it will cause excessive growth, lengthen the distance between small leaves, and affect the beauty of the plant shape.

3. Do not place it in a too dark corner in winter, but place it on the windowsill where it can easily get light, otherwise the leaves will become dark yellow and unsightly.
