Various discomforts of the body make pregnant mothers feel very uncomfortable and often can't sleep at night. Generally speaking, many expectant mothers have symptoms of back pain in the early stage of pregnancy. So, is back pain normal in the early stage of pregnancy?

Is it normal to have back pain during early pregnancy?

The most common stage for low back pain is usually in the late pregnancy. As pregnancy progresses, the uterus expands and the center of gravity slowly shifts backward, forcing the pregnant woman's shoulders to move relatively backward to maintain body balance; the neck is slightly bent to compensate and keep the head upright. As a result, the normal curvature of the spine is reduced, causing lordosis. Therefore, the closer to full term, pregnant women are more likely to experience neck, back and waist pain. The causes of back pain in early pregnancy are as follows:

1. Physiological reasons.

Due to changes in the metabolism of growth hormone in the human body during early pregnancy. During pregnancy, in order for the baby to pass through the birth canal smoothly during delivery, the body will secrete a hormone, which can relax the ligaments connecting the pelvis, and at the same time has the effect of relaxing muscles, which increases the curvature of the spine and is very likely to cause low back pain.

2. Immediate reasons.

The direct causes of low back pain in ordinary people are mainly carrying heavy objects, walking long distances, working with incorrect postures, etc., which can easily cause muscle strain. For pregnant women, these may also be direct causes. Moreover, since pregnant women already have the physiological reasons for low back pain, low back pain in pregnant women is more likely to occur at any time.

In addition, the impact on the uterus and fetus can also cause low back pain. Pregnant women may also suffer from back pain caused by diseases such as lumbar disc herniation, spinal deformity, uterine tumor, urethral stones, sciatica, etc. This disease is sometimes not limited to low back pain, but will continue to affect other parts of the body.

Pregnant women are very prone to low back pain in the early stages of pregnancy, and the severity varies. These are all normal physiological phenomena. Pregnant mothers should not worry and need to pay attention to getting more rest. However, if the pain is severe and affects other parts of the body, there may be other reasons. If it is serious, you must seek medical attention immediately.
