HPV in women

In today's society, women's physical diseases are becoming more and more serious, and there are more and more types. Women have always been thinking about how to take good care of their families and children, but rarely make a plan for a health check-up for themselves. Sometimes, for the sake of the baby, the family does not take any physical discomfort seriously, but going to the hospital is a huge expense. What is the standard value for HPV in women?

In clinical medicine, there is no standard value for HPV, only the presence or absence of infection. In clinical medicine, HPV is divided into high-risk HPV and low-risk HPV infections. If high-risk HPV is shown as ( ) in clinical medicine, it may cause degeneration or even lesions of cervical epithelial cells. Therefore, clinical medicine should pay sufficient attention to high-risk HPV infection. It is recommended to perform colposcopy to determine whether cervical epithelial cells have already had lesions, and then provide certain treatment based on the results.

There are several ways to check HPV in women

The first one is in situ hybridization (ISH). This method can detect HPV DNA in body cells and can accurately locate the site of cells infected with the virus. It has good specificity. However, because it is too precise, each type of HPV requires special probes and experimental reagents. Therefore, it cannot be used on a large scale in clinical medicine because it is too expensive.

The second one is the polymerase chain reaction test (PCR). You may not be familiar with it in Chinese, but if you have checked for HPV virus infection, you will probably see the three letters of PCR on the test form. It is the most common and widespread test in China. Its function is to determine the type of virus infection by testing the HPV DNA, which is the most widely used HPV typing test. However, the shortcoming of this type of testing method is that it cannot detect the amount of virus infection and can only provide clinical diagnosis.

The third type, the second-generation hybrid capture test (HC-2), is also very familiar to you. It is also very popular in some areas. HC-2 is the first one to come out. However, the shortcoming of this type of measurement method is that it can only test the total amount of virus carried by the high-risk group and the low-risk group. In other words, there is only one value, which cannot tell the clinical diagnosis of virus infection and the actual load of each model.
