Is HPV infection serious in women?

According to statistics, the HPV infection rate in my country is gradually increasing, and 20% of patients develop precancerous lesions due to lack of timely treatment. Although precancerous lesions are still some distance away from real cancer, and the symptoms of HPV infection are not very obvious, it does harm our physical and mental health. So, is HPV infection serious in women?

Is HPV infection serious for women? The impact of HPV infection on women:

1. It may cause cervical cancer. The HPV virus can cause lesions, although this possibility is extremely low, it still exists. In comparison, men are much less likely to develop HPV disease. Therefore, women should still pay attention to preventing HPV infection.

2. It may infect relatives. In addition to being transmitted through sexual intercourse, HPV can also be transmitted through contact, which is a very dangerous existence. If anyone in the home touches an HPV-infected object, they may be infected.

3. Impact on pregnancy. Generally speaking, HPV patients are not recommended to become pregnant, because if pregnant women have many problems during the treatment process, it may affect the health of the fetus if they are not careful. Therefore, doctors recommend that if HPV infection is discovered in early pregnancy, abortion should be recommended to reduce the risk; on the other hand, when the cervix is infected with HPV, the probability of pregnancy will also be reduced. Because the cervix is the only way for male sperm to enter the female reproductive system, the HPV virus on the cervix can also come into contact with male sperm and damage male sperm. If the damage is serious, the early sperm-egg combination will stop developing, leading to miscarriage and infertility.

4. Symptoms of discomfort occur. HPV infection may cause local discomfort, mainly in the vagina, urethra, vulva and around the anus. If the condition worsens, it may also cause bleeding, ulcers, pain and other symptoms, making the patient feel painful.

5. Psychological barriers. HPV patients can easily infect their loved ones, and as a result, they become less and less confident in dealing with their loved ones, and even their sexual life becomes more and more fearful, which can easily lead to psychological disorders in the long run.

If you are infected with HPV, you can kill it by yourself

Although HPV has a great impact on the human body, it is not terrible because the human immune system can automatically eliminate this type of viral infection in the early stages.

According to doctors, 80% of women will have an HPV infection in their lifetime. This type of infection is mostly temporary and the body's own immune system will eliminate it from August to December. Only women with poor immune function will suffer from persistent HPV infection.

Persistent infection means that the results of two consecutive tests with an interval of more than one year are both HPV positive.

If persistent infection is found, interferon suppositories can be used to enhance the body's own immune ability and ultimately eliminate the virus.

Moreover, there is a long gap between HPV infection and cervical cancer. Even if the infection persists, it takes 8-12 years to develop cervical cancer. If effective measures are taken during this period, it will not cause cervical cancer. Therefore, as long as women pay great attention to early screening, they can completely detect it in the early stage and block its path to cancer.
