Is it a mental illness for girls to self-harm?

Depression, anxiety, anorexia and even masochism - all of these are more explainable than the temptation of a knife blade. Are people who abuse themselves mentally ill?

The method of torture is not simply a psychological illness, there may also be spiritual problems that need to be treated immediately.

In fact, self-harm in the form of scratching and other forms is the most contagious trend of suicide behavior, and self-harm mainly reflects the mentality of being unable to control oneself. Temporary avoidance behaviors such as self-harm are a precursor to more permanent avoidance behaviors such as suicide.

Many struggle with depression, anxious feelings and anorexia. Some people have borderline personality disorder. There are also some people who have autism like me, which is related to anxiety. Ultimately, these people consider their own harm a lot before they are considered to have committed self-abuse, and they are also at great risk of suicide.

There are seven ways to describe self-harming behavior

1. Sex or sexual masochism.

2. Schizophrenia (self-abuse is a way to resolve discomfort, regain self-identity, and end psychological collapse).

3. System model (self-harming behavior is a symptom of neurological dysfunction in people’s homes and environments).

4. Suicide model (the suicide model of self-harm behavior considers self-abuse as an attempt to abandon or avoid suicide).

5. Psychological/ecological model (ecological vulnerability caused by central nervous system dysfunction and psychological disorders, the interaction of the two leads to self-destructive behavior).

6. Emotional adjustment model (emotional factors such as mental pain, anxiety or enemies can cause self-abuse).

7. Behavior/environmental model (environmental factors both cause self-harming behavior and promote the continuation of self-harming behavior. It is believed that self-harming behavior such as laser cutting or other forms of self-harming behavior will be strengthened by external environmental input or internal release).
