How long after sex can pregnancy be detected?

Most people know that having sex with a girl during her ovulation phase increases the chances of pregnancy. During the ovulation period of girls, many eggs are discharged from the body, which can meet with the male sperm to produce sperm-egg fusion. Therefore, couples who want to have children can understand the time of their wife's ovulation and make adequate preparations. So, how many days after ovulation can pregnancy be detected?

How many days after ovulation can you detect pregnancy?

Pregnancy occurs about 6-8 days after intercourse. Under normal circumstances, it takes 6-8 days for the embryo to implant. About 8-11 days after having sex, you can go to the hospital for a blood test for hCG to check whether you are pregnant.

Generally speaking, women become pregnant within 15-18 hours after the egg cell is released from the ovary. The egg can survive for two days after being released, so the probability of pregnancy after ovulation is relatively high. For a woman to successfully become pregnant after having sex, she must meet the following criteria.

1. Men's testicles can produce normal sperm

The sperm density of a normal adult male ejaculate at one time is 2-6 ml. The sperm count in 1 ml of semen should be more than 60 million, more than 60% of the sperm are motile, and the abnormal sperm is less than 15%-20%. If the male's sperm does not meet the above standards, it will be difficult for the female to become pregnant.

2. Female ovaries can produce healthy and complete eggs

For women with normal menstruation, a healthy and complete egg cell is released in each menstrual cycle, so there is still a chance of pregnancy. It is more difficult for women with ovarian insufficiency or irregular menstruation to get pregnant.

3. Have normal sexual intercourse around the ovulation period

Sperm can survive in the female reproductive tract for 1-3 days, and the egg can survive for about 1 day after being released. The female ovulation time is about 14 days before the next menarche, and the possibility of pregnancy is high within a few days before and after ovulation.

4. The reproductive system is unobstructed

Men's ejaculation duct must be unobstructed so that male sperm can be discharged. Similarly, the female reproductive system must be smooth, so that the sperm entering the female vagina during intercourse can smoothly reach the fallopian tubes and meet the egg cells for fertilization.

5. Uterine extracellular fluid is suitable for embryo implantation and growth and development

After the egg is fertilized, it grows and moves toward the uterus. After 3-4 days, it reaches the uterine body. After 6-8 days, it is buried in the nutrient-rich uterine wall and continues to grow and develop to become a fetus. The combination of sperm and egg and the development of the uterine wall are carried out smoothly. If the sperm and egg combine too early or enter the uterine cavity too late, the uterine wall at this time is not suitable for embryo implantation and continued development, and pregnancy is impossible.

The first symptoms after successful implantation

1. Feeling nauseous and wanting to vomit. Some people begin to suffer from morning sickness in the first few weeks after pregnancy. You may feel nauseous or vomiting, and although morning sickness is also called "morning sickness," nausea and vomiting are not limited to the morning. You may feel nauseous all day and all night long.

2. The breasts become softer. If your breasts feel tender, soft, and swollen, you may be pregnant. This type of symptom may appear in the first few days after pregnancy. After your body absorbs a large amount of testosterone, this pain will disappear and your breasts will no longer feel uncomfortable.

3. Feeling tired. A lot of metabolism of luteinizing hormone (a male hormone) can make you feel exhausted. Almost all pregnant women suffer from this symptom, and you can observe other symptoms to confirm your suspicions.

4. Going to the toilet frequently. After the sperm and egg combine and implant in the endometrium, they begin to secrete human gonadotropin (hCG). This will stimulate you to urinate more often, so you may pee more often than before.

5. Bleeding or muscle spasm. Eight days after ovulation and implantation, you may develop light pink or dark brown stains, and cramps may accompany these conditions. In fact, during the menstrual period, there may be some spotting and bleeding, but this is not a real period. It is the result of the fusion of sperm and egg and the implantation of the embryo in the uterine wall.
