What are the causes of lower back pain before menstruation?

Low back pain during menstruation is one of the symptoms of dysmenorrhea. If menstrual pain occurs and no obvious abnormalities of the pelvic organs are found after a detailed gynecological clinical examination, it is called primary dysmenorrhea, also known as functional dysmenorrhea. Secondary dysmenorrhea refers to those with significant diseases of the male reproductive organs, such as endometriosis, pelvic inflammatory disease, tumors, etc. So what is the cause of menstrual back pain and what are the causes?

1. Abnormal position of the uterus: Low back pain is caused by the extension, retroflexion, or prolapse of the uterus. There is no specific treatment for this type of low back pain, but correcting uterine prolapse and changing posture can alleviate the symptoms.

2. Pelvic tumors: Patients with uterine fibroids, cervical cancer, and ovarian cysts may experience low back pain due to tumor compression of nerves or tumor cells invading the pelvic connective tissue. This type of patient often has extensive abdominal pain when experiencing low back pain, and medication is often ineffective.

3. Internal injury factors: Too many pregnancies, frequent abortions and sexual intercourse between couples can all cause kidney damage and lead to low back pain.

4. Lumbar muscle strain: Excessive fatigue, abnormal standing and sitting postures, and tight binding can all cause lumbar muscle strain and lead to low back pain. Therefore, such patients should pay attention to arrange their time reasonably and move their waist frequently so that the waist muscles can be fully stretched.

5. Pelvic inflammatory disease: Patients with chronic adnexitis, pelvic inflammatory disease, and inflammation of the pelvic connective tissue may experience irritation and low back pain due to inflammation. As the primary symptom improves or heals, the low back pain symptoms may gradually ease and subside.

6. Relaxation of sacrospinal ligament: After pregnancy, the growth of the fetus may increase the bearing capacity of the waist, causing the sacrospinal ligament to relax, compressing the pelvic nerves and blood vessels and causing low back pain. This type of low back pain usually subsides gradually as the waist muscle tension is restored after giving birth.
