What are the items to check for corpus luteum function?

Some women have not gotten pregnant for two years after marriage. At this time, they go to the hospital for treatment, and the doctor will ask the women to check for corpus luteum insufficiency. According to statistics, women with insufficient corpus luteum are very prone to infertility. And for pregnant women, corpus luteum insufficiency can also lead to spontaneous miscarriage. Therefore, it is very important to check for corpus luteum insufficiency. What types of corpus luteum insufficiency should be checked?

What types of corpus luteum deficiency are checked?

1. If the estrogen content in the blood is measured between the 18th and 28th day of the menstrual period and its content is significantly lower than normal, it indicates luteal insufficiency.

2. Use ultrasound to detect the ovulation period. The time from ovulation to menstruation should be about 14 days. If it is less than 12 days, it means that the corpus luteum is insufficient.

3. Accurately measuring the body temperature during ovulation is the simplest method, but also the least accurate method. Measure the body temperature every morning, then record it and put it on the temperature sheet.

4. Curettage is performed on the 26th day of the menstrual cycle to take a sample of the uterine wall for histological examination. If the uterine wall metabolism is poor or lags behind the endometrium of two days after the curettage day, it is considered to be corpus luteum deficiency.

Examining the causes of corpus luteum insufficiency

Corpus luteum insufficiency does not always mean that the endocrine effect of the progesterone produced by the uterus and ovaries after ovulation is insufficient, resulting in insufficient estrogen metabolism, insufficient metabolic conversion of the uterine wall, ovulatory dysfunctional uterine bleeding, and unfavorable implantation of the embryo combined with sperm and egg, which can cause infertility or habitual abortion.

Through the above introduction, you can understand what kinds of tests are needed for corpus luteum insufficiency. If women want to know whether they have corpus luteum insufficiency or incompleteness, they can check according to the above methods. The test for corpus luteum insufficiency is during the preparation for pregnancy. If a woman has a short menstrual cycle or frequent menstrual periods, it is best to check for corpus luteum insufficiency.
