Is a tumor in the breast necessarily cancer?

Symptoms of adenocarcinoma can vary, the most common of which are: breast lumps, breast pain, nipple discharge, erosion or skin pitting, swollen lymph nodes under the armpit, etc. Although these symptoms may not be specific, understanding these symptoms and knowing these manifestations will help us to detect, diagnose and treat breast cancer in the early stages. So if a tumor grows in the breast, does it necessarily mean it's cancer?

What should I do if I have a tumor in my breast?

Nowadays, whether it is tumor removal or needle aspiration, the purpose is to conduct pathological examination of the cut or aspirated tissue, diagnose the actual characteristics of the disease, and then formulate corresponding treatment measures. Needle aspiration examination is less painful, but the tumor cannot be completely aspirated, and there is a possibility of misdiagnosis. Surgical tumor removal has a low misdiagnosis rate and can completely remove the tumor. If it is a good disease, no further treatment is required. However, removal is more painful than puncture. Even so, patients are still advised to choose lump removal surgery as much as possible.

Causes of Breast Tumors

It is more common in middle-aged and elderly people. Due to changes in growth hormone, the breast ducts and tubes undergo degenerative changes, abnormal tube growth and development, poor mammary structure, resulting in epithelial cell hyperplasia, and the deposition of proliferating cells and secretions to form tumors.

Clinical statistics show that patients with Pseudomonas aeruginosa infection or nipple infection are much more likely to develop breast adenocarcinoma in the future than those with the above two infections. Pathological analysis shows that inflammatory mediators stimulate squamous cell proliferation and excessive accumulation of lipid secretions, causing the disease.

This disease is also related to nipple filling or deformity, squamous epithelium extending into the inner lumen of the tube causing blockage of keratinization and desquamation, or autoimmune system diseases.

Early diagnosis of breast cancer

Breast tumor lumps are most commonly located in the upper outer quadrant, followed by the nipple, nipple area, and anterior upper quadrant. Because there are usually no active symptoms, the lumps are often discovered by patients inadvertently (such as taking a bath or changing clothes). A small number of patients may experience varying degrees of dull pain or irritation and nipple discharge. The growth rate of the lump is relatively fast, and if it invades the surrounding tissues, it may cause changes in the shape of the breast and a series of clinical symptoms. For example: indentations on the surface of the tumor skin; cancer in adjacent nipples can pull the nipple toward the location of the cancer; nipple fillings, etc. If the tumor is very large, the entire breast tissue may shrink and the lump may protrude noticeably. The tumor continued to grow, producing the so-called "orange peel" changes. These are the main symptoms of breast tumors.
