Is polycystic ovary syndrome serious if hormone levels are normal?

Polycystic ovary syndrome with normal growth hormone levels is relatively mild. Generally, the main manifestations are only the enlargement of the uterus and ovaries in ultrasound examination, the presence of eggs of different sizes in the uterus and ovaries, no mature follicles are discharged, and all six hormone tests are normal. The main manifestations of polycystic ovary are scanty menstruation, even amenorrhea, or the occurrence of multifunctional abnormal uterine bleeding and excessive secretion of sebaceous glands. As the disease worsens, abnormalities were found in six female hormone tests, mainly manifested as excessive metabolism of male hormones. Patients with polycystic ovary usually have an obese physique and have difficulty in getting pregnant. It is recommended to use therapeutic drugs or surgical treatment.

There are three diagnostic criteria for polycystic ovary syndrome: one is delayed menstruation or abnormal vaginal bleeding. The second is that testosterone in the six hormone items increases, or the ratio of luteinizing hormone to follicle-stimulating hormone is greater than 2. Third, B-ultrasound can detect polycystic ovaries. If two of these three items meet the requirements, polycystic ovary syndrome can be diagnosed. Polycystic ovary syndrome is an endocrine imbalance disease that generally cannot be cured throughout life. If the female hormone level is normal, it is necessary to see whether the B-ultrasound shows the growth and excretion of mature follicles and the manifestation of menstruation to determine whether it is easy to treat. In most cases, it is easy for patients to restore ovulation and normal pregnancy through treatment.

Polycystic ovary is a serious condition, mainly an endocrine disease in which the ovaries are enlarged and the level of male hormones in the body is increased, making it impossible to release eggs normally. It is mainly caused by the imbalance of hypothalamic-pituitary regulation. If this kind of disease is not treated in time, the situation will be serious. It may cause complex uterine bleeding, excessive hair growth, obesity and infertility. In the later stage, it will cause ovarian enlargement and other diseases. Therefore, it should be treated in time to avoid other uncomfortable symptoms.

Polycystic ovary syndrome can cause menstrual irregularities (oligomenorrhea, amenorrhea, etc.), infertility, acne, excessive hair growth, obesity and other main manifestations in the short term; medium- and long-term complications include cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases, endometrial cancer, etc. The treatment is also relatively complicated and there is no way to completely cure it. The current treatment focuses on the following: For adolescent women without fertility requirements, the main treatment goal is to regulate menstruation, restore menstruation to normal levels and ensure monthly menstruation; for women with fertility requirements, most of the treatment methods are to promote ovulation and pregnancy.
