If you are not pregnant, take birth control pills

In modern society, some girls take emergency contraceptives to prevent pregnancy in order not to have children. Until they want to, they stop using emergency contraception, which is a very convenient contraceptive measure. However, it should be noted that pregnancy must be achieved after stopping emergency contraception for about half a year, for fear that the emergency contraception may have residual effects on the child. But some girls were pregnant, and they thought they were not pregnant, but they still had to take birth control pills. What would be the effects if they took birth control pills even though they were not pregnant?

What happens if you take birth control pills without getting pregnant:

1. Pregnancy-like reactions: Pregnancy-like reactions are common, accounting for about 50% of the total number of medications taken. The symptoms are usually severe at first and then gradually subside, which may be related to the body's gradual adaptation. A small number of people experience mild early pregnancy reactions in the early stages of taking the medicine, such as nausea, dizziness, fatigue, loss of appetite, tiredness, vomiting, etc. It often occurs within 1-2 weeks of taking the medicine. For those with more severe reactions, vitamin B26 can be taken, 20 mg each time, 3 times a day. If there is still no relief, you can consider changing emergency contraception and choose a treatment with less estrogen.

2. Excessive leucorrhea: mostly caused by highly effective contraceptives. Therefore, the drug has a high estrogen content. Excessive estrogen affects the metabolic cells of the cervical endometrium, causing it to metabolize excessively and resulting in excessive leucorrhea.

3. Breast pain: The reason is the stimulation of female hormones on the breasts.

4. Menstrual disorders include:

Blood pressure, low menstrual flow or amenorrhea. This situation is prone to occur after taking short-term contraceptives because the therapeutic drugs suppress ovulation, the uterus and ovaries secrete less estrogen, the therapeutic drugs also contain less estrogen, the uterine wall cannot grow normally, the endometrium is thin, so the menstrual flow is small, or even amenorrhea. Low menstrual flow has no effect on physical and mental health. If amenorrhea continues for 2 months during the medication process, you should stop taking the medication and switch to other contraceptive measures. Most of the time, you can recover on your own.

Blood breakthrough bleeding. If bleeding occurs during medication, it usually occurs after missing a dose of medication. A small number of people may experience vaginal bleeding even if they do not miss any pills. If it occurs in the first half of the menstrual cycle, it may be caused by insufficient estrogen. You can take 0.005-0.015 mg of ethinyl estradiol once a day until 22 tablets have been taken.

Supplements increase menstrual volume and prolong menstrual duration. It often occurs in people who take highly effective contraceptives. When bleeding is heavy, hemostatic drugs can be used, and testosterone propionate can be injected if necessary. If the menstrual flow increases again and bleeding continues for more than 3 months, you should stop taking high-efficiency contraceptives and take short-acting pills instead.

5. Weight gain may be caused by hypokalemia due to estrogen. Estrogen affects anabolism (increased estrogen promotes protein assimilation), thus causing some women to gain weight. Generally, no solution is needed. You can take diuretics or a low-fat diet, and stop taking the medicine if necessary.

6. Pigmentation: A few people will develop pigmentation on their forehead and face after taking the medicine. This is the result of the effects of estrogen, and it usually recovers naturally after stopping the medicine.
