Female left hip pain

Female left hip pain

Left hip pain is a common condition among women. We must pay great attention to it because it is caused by various factors. We must consider that the pain is caused by traumatic factors that cause strain on the soft tissue muscles of the left hip. It is mostly caused by trauma or injury, which causes congestion and swelling of the left hip soft tissue muscles, resulting in pain. There are also other reasons. Let’s take a look at them below.

What is the reason for the pain in the left hip of a woman?

For the situation of left hip pain in women, the first thing we consider is that it is related to hip synovitis. In particular, fatigue and cold can easily cause hyperplasia of the hip synovium, which in turn causes extravasation of effusion and causes pain in the hip area.

Another thing is the degeneration of the hip joint and the symptoms caused by bone hyperplasia. The hyperplasia in this condition can easily irritate the cruciate ligament and articular cartilage around the hip joint, causing soreness and pain in the hip joint. The pain is significantly aggravated by raising your legs high, jumping, and walking up and down stairs.

There are also problems with the femoral head, especially femoral head necrosis, which can easily cause pain in the hip joint in the early stages and make it difficult to sit cross-legged. If the patient's left hip pain is located in the buttocks and is accompanied by numbness and pain in the foot, this situation cannot be ruled out as being related to disc disease, especially lumbar disc herniation, lumbar stenosis or lumbar spondylolisthesis, which can also cause pain in the buttocks and hip.

What should I do if a woman has pain in her left hip?

If a woman has pain in her left hip, we first recommend that she take anteroposterior and lateral X-rays of her left hip to determine whether she has femoral head necrosis or hip dysplasia. If the test results are normal, we recommend that she undergo an MRI of her left hip to determine whether she has early femoral head necrosis of the left hip and synovitis of the left hip, and to rule out left femoroacetabular impingement syndrome. Further treatment will be carried out after the diagnosis is confirmed. At this stage, it is recommended that patients take non-steroidal analgesics orally or topically.
