Can ovarian cancer be removed after it has spread? How should it be treated?

If a woman appears to be sallow and thin, it means there may be a problem with her ovaries. The ovaries are an important reproductive organ of women. Generally speaking, the symptoms of early ovarian cancer are not very obvious. Once discovered, it has already become advanced ovarian cancer, and the cancer cells have spread and metastasized in large quantities. So how can ovarian cancer that has spread or developed be treated?

Each patient has different individual differences and different sensitivities to treatment methods, so the treatment effects will definitely be different. Generally, the cure rate of early surgical treatment is relatively high. For middle and late stages, a comprehensive treatment method combining surgery, chemotherapy and traditional Chinese medicine is often used.

Can the spread of ovarian cancer be cured? This has a lot to do with the patient's physical fitness and her own immunity. We need to remind everyone that no matter how advanced ovarian cancer is, you should not give up treatment and maintain an optimistic attitude. A considerable number of patients can prolong their lives.

Treatment of ovarian cancer:

1. Tumor thickness, that is, the depth of tumor infiltration. The 5-year survival rate is 89% for those with primary lesions ≤0.75mm, and only 25% for those ≥4mm.

2. Lesion location. According to clinical analysis, the surgical efficacy varies depending on the location of malignant melanoma, which further affects the post-operative survival period. It is generally believed that the prognosis is the worst when it occurs in the trunk, followed by those in the head and neck, and better when it occurs in the limbs.

3. Surgical method. The choice of surgical method is the key to the cure rate of ovarian cancer. Clinically, for lesion thickness ≤0.75mm, the resection range is 2cm to 3cm from the tumor edge; for lesion thickness >0.75mm and ≤4mm, the range is 3cm to 4cm; for lesion thickness >4mm, wide resection is performed 5cm from the tumor edge, which can reduce the local recurrence rate. Inappropriate local excision can result in a local recurrence rate as high as 27% to 57%. Once local recurrence occurs, even a very thorough and extensive excision is unlikely to be effective. The same is true for the treatment of regional lymph nodes. A substandard regional lymph node removal will often promote the spread of the tumor throughout the body.

4. Age and gender: Rare juvenile malignant melanoma has a better prognosis. The prognosis of malignant melanoma patients under 45 years old is better than that of older patients. In terms of gender, the prognosis of female patients is significantly better than that of male patients.

5. For patients, if ovarian cancer is confirmed, they should maintain a calm state of mind and actively cooperate with surgical treatment, which will have a positive impact on their survival time after surgery.

Can the spread of ovarian cancer be cured? Regarding the disease of ovarian cancer, experts say that many people feel very different after suffering from ovarian cancer and feel that they will never get this disease. However, in real life, such accidents often happen. Ovarian cancer patients should accept the fact that they have ovarian cancer like ordinary people, so that they can better treat ovarian cancer.
