When is the safe period for sex and will not cause pregnancy

For many couples, especially those who have just got married, because they have certain plans for the future, they do not want to have a baby too early. At this time, they usually use contraceptive methods. The contraceptive methods currently on the market include emergency contraception, condoms and safe period. So when is the safe period for intercourse and when it is not easy to get pregnant?

When is the safe period for sexual intercourse?

Women's safe period is divided into safe period before ovulation and safe period after ovulation. The period from the end of menstruation to the day before ovulation is the safe period before ovulation. From the first day after ovulation to the day before the next menstrual period is the safe period after ovulation.

A woman's ovulation period is generally about 14 days before the next menstrual period. To be on the safe side, we call the 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation the 10 days outside the ovulation period the ovulation period. Generally speaking, the ovaries of women of normal childbearing age only release one egg cell per month. The egg cell can survive for 1-2 days after being released, and the sperm can survive in the female reproductive system for 2-3 days. The fertilization ability is mostly within 24 hours after ovulation. After 2-3 days, the sperm will lose the ability to fuse with the egg cell. Therefore, if you have sexual intercourse 2-3 days before ovulation and 1-2 days after ovulation, you may become pregnant. This stage is called the fertile period or safe period.

The safe period refers to the period from the end of the previous ovulation period to the next ovulation period. Generally speaking, if a woman has a normal menstrual cycle of 28 days, the seven days before and eight days after the first day of menarche is the safe period. The seven days before menstruation and eight days after menstruation are the safe period for adult women, which is a calculation method used by most people for contraceptive measures. In addition to the calendar method using the number of days to calculate, there is also the ovulation temperature method and secretion observation. However, the safe period is not absolutely safe. Sometimes women ovulate early or late, and the judgment of the safe period will immediately become invalid.

Can I get pregnant during the safe period?

1. The basic principle of the safe period contraceptive method is to avoid the so-called unsafe period of sexual intercourse before and after ovulation, so that the egg and sperm have no chance to meet. The reliability of different women is different. Its success depends on the accurate grasp of the ovulation period. Safe period contraception is a contraceptive measure to terminate the couple's sexual life during the ovulation period.

2. Normal adult women only ovulate one egg cell per month. Ovulation usually occurs about 14 days before the next menstrual period. After the egg cell is discharged from the uterus and ovary, it can survive in the bilateral fallopian tubes for 1-2 days, waiting for fertilization; male sperm can survive in the female reproductive system for 2-3 days. It is easy to get pregnant by having sex a few days before and after the egg is released. To be on the safe side, "natural" behavior must be avoided 5 days before and 4 days after ovulation, and even 10 days outside of the ovulation period.

3. In theory, except for the days mentioned above, it is not easy to get pregnant at other times, so it should be safe. This is called the safe period. However, such calculations also have risks, because women's cycle is greatly affected by the environment and mood, and will change immediately when encountering special events. If the safety period is divided into static braking areas, it will become less safe. The safety period must be used in conjunction with other methods to ensure safety. For example: calculating based on the physiological cycle, accurately measuring body temperature during ovulation, and observing cervical mucus metabolism.

4. The safe period contraceptive method is used under normal circumstances of sexual intercourse between couples. If it is not strictly controlled or performed incorrectly, it is easy to fail.
