What are the symptoms of jaundice in women

What are the symptoms of jaundice? This needs to be paid attention to. We all know that the occurrence of jaundice will have a certain degree of harm to women's health, so we must detect this disease as early as possible and actively help everyone find targeted treatment plans. So what are the symptoms of jaundice? Next, I will explain it to you in detail.

Symptoms of jaundice:

1. Fever: Jaundice with fever is common in acute cholangitis, and is also accompanied by chills and coldness. Liver abscess, sepsis, and leptospirosis all have moderate fever or even high fever; subacute viral hepatitis or acute hemolysis often has fever first and then jaundice.

2 Abdominal pain: Jaundice accompanied by severe pain or pain in the upper abdomen is common in bile duct stones, biliary ascariasis or liver abscess, primary liver cancer, etc. Patients with viral hepatitis often present with persistent distension and dull pain in the right upper abdomen; liver abscess or liver cancer may also present with dull pain or distension in the upper abdomen or right upper abdomen.

3 Skin itching: Jaundice accompanied by skin itching is common in intrahepatic and extrahepatic common bile duct obstruction, cholestatic jaundice, such as common bile duct stones, cancer or primary biliary cirrhosis, recurrent jaundice during pregnancy, etc. Some patients with hepatic jaundice may also experience skin itching, while hemolytic jaundice often does not cause skin itching.

4. Color of urine and excrement: In obstructive jaundice, the urine is as dark as strong tea, while the stool may become lighter in color. When the bile duct is completely blocked, the excrement is like clay. In patients with hemolytic jaundice, the urine is the color of soy sauce and the stool color is also darker; in patients with hepatic jaundice, the urine color is slightly darker and the excrement is light yellow.

5. Poor appetite, upper abdominal fullness, nausea and vomiting: People with viral hepatitis often have indigestion symptoms such as poor appetite, nausea and vomiting, vomiting, upper abdominal fullness, etc. before the onset of jaundice. Most patients also dislike high-calorie foods. Long-term aversion to high-calorie foods or pain in the right upper abdomen or severe pain after eating high-calorie foods are often caused by chronic cholecystitis. Elderly patients with jaundice accompanied by indigestion symptoms such as loss of appetite should consider that they are caused by cancer, and are often accompanied by idiopathic weight gain, and even manifestations of high-ratio malnutrition.

6 Gastrointestinal bleeding: When jaundice is accompanied by gastrointestinal bleeding, it is common in cirrhosis, liver cancer, common bile duct cancer, ampullary cancer or severe hepatitis.

7. The color of sclera and skin jaundice: The cause or type of jaundice can be analyzed and determined based on the color of jaundice. If the sclera and skin jaundice is lemon-colored, it is usually a sign of hemolytic jaundice; if it is light yellow or orange-yellow, it is usually a sign of hepatic jaundice; if it is dark yellow or light green, it is usually a sign of obstructive jaundice. The longer the infarction time, the more obvious the light green color of the jaundice.

8 Other skin abnormalities: If there is pigmentation on the face and exposed skin, as well as liver palms, spider nevi, or enlarged capillaries on the neck and chest, and varicose veins in the abdominal cavity, it is mostly a reminder of active hepatitis, cirrhosis or primary liver cancer. If the skin has itchy scars, pigmentation and xanthelasma on the eyelids, it is usually caused by obstructive jaundice. Patients with hemolytic jaundice generally have pale skin.

9 Enlarged liver: In viral hepatitis and acute bile duct infection, the liver is slightly or moderately swollen, soft in color, smooth on the surface, and often tender; slight swelling of the liver, hard color, uneven edges or small nodules on the surface are common in early cirrhosis and late cirrhosis, where the liver is often hardened and shrunk; when the liver is significantly swollen or idiopathic, hard in color, with an uneven surface and a feeling of mass, it is often a reminder of primary liver cancer.

We must have a precise understanding and knowledge of the symptoms of jaundice, because only by taking appropriate medication can we achieve the best results. Of course, jaundice is very harmful and can seriously damage our health. In order to completely reduce the harm caused by the disease, we need to consult more experts to help us find the most suitable treatment method for ourselves.
