Breast B-ultrasound examination is widely used in clinical medicine. B-ultrasound can be divided into six levels, as follows: level 1 is negative, level 2 is good lesions, level 3 is possible good lesions, level 4 is possible malignant, level 5 is highly suspected of malignant, and level 6 is definitely malignant. So, what does breast B-ultrasound category 3 mean? Let's have a simple understanding of this issue. I hope the following points will be helpful to everyone!

What does breast B-ultrasound 3 mean?

Generally refers to a grade classification of imaging diagnostic examinations. Breast B-ultrasound or mammography may be divided into five main categories: Category 1, Category 2, Category 3, Category 4 to Category 5. Category 3 means that the possibility of good disease is high, but the time for follow-up should be reduced, generally a follow-up visit is required every three to six months. If it is Category 2, it is generally good, and a follow-up visit is sufficient every six months to a year. Category 1 means there is no problem, and a follow-up visit is required basically once a year. If it is Category 4, a puncture biopsy is recommended, and then a pathological diagnosis is established. In particular, 4c indicates that there may be a deterioration, and Category 5 indicates that the possibility of malignant disease is relatively high.

Generally speaking, it is just a graded classification method of breast B-ultrasound and mammography. However, if there are no obvious symptoms of breast hyperplasia, no special treatment is required. Just pay attention to a healthy diet, light taste and easy digestion, avoid spicy, irritating and greasy food, and eat small meals frequently. Also, if breast hyperplasia produces obvious lumps, you can consider further surgical puncture biopsy pathological diagnosis.

When doing breast ultrasound, if a lump is found in the breast, a rough analysis of the lump will be made based on the grade of the imaging diagnosis. This type of identification plays an important role in the further treatment of breast lumps. The actual meaning of breast ultrasound category three is that the possibility of the discovered breast lump being malignant is less than 3%, and the breast needs to be re-examined with ultrasound or mammography every three months to six months. If there is no significant change after two years, it can be downgraded to category two, which means it is diagnosed as a benign lump.

Breast examination breast imaging reporting and information system classification standards, the classification standards are 6 categories, 0-6 levels. Generally, level 0 is meaningless, while levels 1, 2, and 3 are more likely to be good. The higher the grade, the higher the level of malignancy, that is, the more serious the disease. Under normal circumstances, breast ultrasound category 3 is classified as a benign lesion, with a deterioration rate of less than 2%. There is no need to worry when the breast B-ultrasound reports Class 3. People under 40 years old can have regular follow-up visits, once every 3-6 months, to see if there is any improvement. If there is no improvement, just have regular follow-up visits. For those over 40 years old, it is recommended to undergo a mammogram to further diagnose whether it is accompanied by thickening to rule out the possibility of breast cancer. Generally speaking, patients with breast ultrasound category 3 are recommended to have regular follow-up visits, as the likelihood of recovery is relatively high.
