HPV stands for human papillomavirus. Some people may not be familiar with this virus, but when it comes to genital warts or cervicitis, I believe everyone is familiar with them. These two diseases are very serious and are caused by infection with human papillomavirus. However, a positive HPV55 test does not necessarily mean that you have the disease. So, what does HPV55 positive mean? Let’s take a look below. HPV55 positive means vaginal or cervical infection with human papillomavirus type 55. There are many types of HPV viruses, which are divided into low-risk and high-risk types according to their harm. Persistent infection with high-risk HPV is closely related to the incidence of cervical cancer, while infection with low-risk HPV is related to the incidence of genital warts. According to research, more than 75% of women have been infected with HPV in their lifetime. Most of the infections are transient and can be cleared by the body's resistance. Only a very small number of women will have HPV viruses persist in their bodies and integrate with the mucosa to cause lesions, so regular screening for cervical cancer, including HPV viruses, is very necessary. Four methods of cervical cancer screening (1) Colposcopy When abnormalities are found in cervical cytology smear examination, a colposcopy is required to confirm the lesion. If necessary, several pieces of tissue can be taken for pathological examination to provide a basis for surgical treatment. (2) Human papillomavirus (HPV) is the main cause of cervical cancer and its precancerous lesions. HPV can be found in 99.8% of cervical cancer patients. The latest method for detecting HPV infection approved for clinical use is the hybridization capture method. (3) CCT examination is a computer-assisted film reading system. Americans have developed a system called "brain neural network simulation system" to scan traditional Pap smears. (4) Thin-layer cytology technique (TCT). How to prevent cervical cancer (1) Married women over 25 years old or who have had sexual activity for more than three years should go to the hospital for regular check-ups. Regular check-ups are especially important for women with a family history of cervical cancer. (2) Having multiple sexual partners and unhygienic sex life can lead to the spread of pathogenic viruses. The skin scale accumulated by the excessively long penis enucleation of the sexual partner may contain carcinogenic substances. Husbands with foreskin that is too long should actively seek treatment, pay attention to hygiene before and after sexual intercourse, and reduce the stimulation of the cervix by adverse factors. (3) The incidence of cervical cancer in women who marry early, have children early, and have many children is much higher than that in women who marry late, have children late, and have few children. (4) In general, women with cervical disease are more likely to develop cervical cancer than women with smooth cervixes. Women with cervical lacerations or bleeding during sexual intercourse should seek medical attention. |
